Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2015
I have been making this recipe for almost 2 years now and it NEVER disappoints. Very few ingredients and the flavor is absolutely amazing. I do like to add a little coarse sea salt and fresh ground pepper to my tenderloin before I smother it in the mustard. Thank you Koalagirl. You his this one out of the park!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2015
Absolutely Fantastic! I am only giving 4 stars because I did not use tomato sauce as I had none on hand which altered the original recipe. I used diced tomatoes instead, but other than that I followed the recipe. I heated up the marinade on the stove with the shrimp instead of grilling, added some fresh asparagus and angel hair pasta. This is definitely a keeper! Very fresh and light.

Paella I

Reviewed: May 30, 2015
Fantastic!!! I did make a few substitutions with lobster and jonah crab claws as squid and mussels were not available at my local grocery store today. Also used long grain white rice that I had on hand. Other than that, I followed the recipe to the letter to keep the integrity. I've had paella at high end restaurants that were nowhere near as tasty. Thank you Christine for the share. Definitely will be making this again and again. Delish!!!

Pat's Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: May 17, 2015
We make sauteed mushrooms at least 2ce a month to go with our dinners and these were a little disappointing. I made them exactly as written in the recipe. The balsamic gave it a wonderful little taste boost but they lacked something I cannot put my finger on. I added salt and pepper and they still lacked. IF I make these again, I will delete the olive oil as they were a tad greasy even when they were done and the carmelization was there. I would add onion and maybe some of my own little tweaks. Thank you for sharing your recipe as we LOVE trying new things.

Balsamic-Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2015
I made this for my husband and me and we have mixed reviews. I made it according to the recipe and I thought the rosemary was very overpowering. On the other hand, my husband thought these sprouts were quite tasty. He gave a 4 star and me a 2. I will definitely make again, but will cut wayyyyy back on the rosemary or use thyme in it's place. Thank you for the share lazybarb.

Dill-Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2015
I saw this in my new Feb/Mar 2015 issue of Allrecipes magazine today, and thought I'd give it a try. It was more than ok, less than good. I will make it again with these simple changes: I used dried dill and would definitely drop it to 1 tsp, not the recommended 2 tsp as suggested in the footnotes. Also, I'd add a bit more salt or use salted butter and 1 tsp honey as we like our carrots a bit more on the sweeter side. The cooking time on the carrots was pretty spot on.

Pork Fried Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2014
This recipe is about as close as I have found to restaurant pork fried rice. I doubled the rice, green onions, garlic and ginger as many reviews suggested. Glad I did. I also tossed in an extra bit of soy sauce as I had more rice. Very tasty. Thank you for sharing! Will be making it again and again. Great recipe for left over pork that you are not sure how to recycle.

Brussels Sprouts with Sour Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2014
We're always looking for new sprout recipes, so we decided to give this a try. Sour cream is a staple in our house, not only for topping things but using as an added ingredient to many dishes as we are very fond of it. The flavors just did not blend well together in this dish.

Stuffed Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2014
I followed this recipe as is (except I used 3 chops instead of 4 as we only needed a chop each for dinner and one left over for his lunch) and were wonderfully delighted. Both my husband and I loved it! No changes needed as far as we were both concerned. Very simple to make. This will definitely be in our cold weather hearty meal rotation. Thanks for the share!!!

Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
This recipe was out of this world good! I often make the blue cheese sauce, without the steak recipe, to put on other cuts of beef. Wonderful share... Thanks!!

Ethiopian Cabbage Dish

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2014
Other than cutting the olive oil by half (as I read in the other reviews) I stuck by the recipe. Absolutely Fantastic! We loved it and the left overs went with the Mr. to work where he shared it with a few. Rave reviews from the guys there as well. Definitely going in my rotation. Thanks for the share!

Chicken Fried Steak with Cream Pork Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2014
The breading was delish! I refrigerated the steaks after breading for about an hour to make sure it stuck. Cannot give it a 5 as I was in a time crunch and used packaged peppered gravy mix. Next time, and yes, there will be a next time, I will make the gravy as the recipe suggests. Definitely a hit with me & the Mr.

Grandma's Pork Chops in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2014
This was very good and I made the recipe as written. My pork chops were very overdone and dry regardless of the gravy. This is why I only gave it a 3 instead of a 4. I will make it again, but will cook the 'broth' in the oven a little while before I add the chops.

Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes with Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2014
I prepared the recipe as instructed. They were very tasty but I'd either add another potato or cut back on the evaporated milk as they were a bit thin. Other than that, what a great side dish to any big meal.

Grilled Sherry Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2014
Absolutely fantastic! I did add a small crushed clove of garlic and let it marinate for a little over an hour as we got sidetracked. The extra time worked out great. Also, I used a better brand of sherry as that is what I keep in my home for cooking. I cannot wait to prepare these chops for our foodie friends. Kudos!

Seared Scallops with Jalapeno Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
This dish was exceptional. We made it for friends and used a cast iron skillet on the grill burner. Applause all around. We did kick up the heat a little though as we all enjoy spicy. Will definitely make again.

Brussels Sprouts in a Sherry Bacon Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2014
I have been making this recipe for over 2 years and it never disappoints! The only thing I do differently is roast the sprouts for 15 minutes cut side down then another 5 cut side up. We found that the extra 5 minutes worked best for our taste. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe starshinesMonet. I have yet to make them and hear anything but praise.
