Healthier Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
The whole house smells amazing! Not the most time-friendly crockpot recipe since you add veggies during the cooking time, but well worth it. Everything cooked up perfectly. It was a great base to add my personal touches, and used ingredients I already had on hand. I used part sweet potato and part russett potatoes, and got great flavor. Yum.

Banana Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
These are fantastic! I made my own substitutions, and they were great. I used 1 c. flour and 1/2 c. whole wheat flour, vanilla yogurt instead of the milk, 1 egg + 1 T milled flax seed & 3 T water. I also added 1 c. blueberries. My kids loved them, and we loved them too! Healthy & delicious.

Fluffy Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
These cake donuts are very tasty. I only made a couple changes based on reviews, I used buttermilk, omitted the oil and used 2T melted butter in batter. When baked, I dipped in melted butter and rolled in brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon. What I loved the best about these is that I ad all the ingredients on hand. The bonus is that the kids ate them up!

Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
This cooked up wonderfully! Searing it properly is the key to a moist roast. Make sure you get all 4 sides. I didn't have any bay leaves, so I omitted them. I DID add sliced mushrooms to the pan with the onions. Family couldn't stop raving about the perfect roast I made.

These are wonderful, simple to make muffins. My whole family ate them up. I added about 1/2 to 1/3 can whole corn, drained. I also used about 1/4 sugar + 1/4 cup honey. They were fantastic. Will definitely make these again.

Zippy-Zoo Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
Fantastic sauce! We used this on boneless center cut pork chops, which we then grilled. It was so flavorful. I didn't have worcestershire sauce, so I replaced it with fusion sauce (an asian mariande that smells of black licorice). Perfect!

Kansas City Steak Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
We really enjoyed this soup, but I thought 1 cup of flour was too much. I used only 2/3 and it tasted good, but was really thick. Next time I'll use only about 1/4 cup to start. (And really you can skip and make broth soup instead). I skipped the frozen veggies , but did cut up a small yukon potato to add. Update; Made it a 2nd time. Still the best. Didn't add potato, but did add fresh mushrooms, 1/3 diced red bell pepper, about a cup of baby Bella sliced mushrooms and a cup of frozen corn.. Yum!
