Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
This cooked up wonderfully! Searing it properly is the key to a moist roast. Make sure you get all 4 sides. I didn't have any bay leaves, so I omitted them. I DID add sliced mushrooms to the pan with the onions. Family couldn't stop raving about the perfect roast I made.

Zippy-Zoo Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
Fantastic sauce! We used this on boneless center cut pork chops, which we then grilled. It was so flavorful. I didn't have worcestershire sauce, so I replaced it with fusion sauce (an asian mariande that smells of black licorice). Perfect!

Homemade Maple Syrup

This is so easy I can do it while the pancakes are being made. Even my kids request this over the brands we used to buy. I add just a tablespoon of butter once I turn the heat off.

Kansas City Steak Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
We really enjoyed this soup, but I thought 1 cup of flour was too much. I used only 2/3 and it tasted good, but was really thick. Next time I'll use only about 1/4 cup to start. (And really you can skip and make broth soup instead). I skipped the frozen veggies , but did cut up a small yukon potato to add. Update; Made it a 2nd time. Still the best. Didn't add potato, but did add fresh mushrooms, 1/3 diced red bell pepper, about a cup of baby Bella sliced mushrooms and a cup of frozen corn.. Yum!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
Flavorful, easy soup. I really didnt need to change anything to make a fantastic soup! I didn't use bacon so I just used olive oil for theonion and garlic. Also, since the skins contain so many nutrients, i just chopped, but did not peel. SUPER!

Chinese New Year Chocolate Candy

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Tasty and easy. Its a great recipe to have the kids help with because they can do most of it. I always melt the chips in the microwave, then add the peanuts & chow mein noodles to the bowl, saving extra clean up time.

fantastic! I used 1 c. Whole wheat flour, and the rest unbleached white. I also used 3/4 c. Applesauce + 3/4 c. Oil. Also, added 3/4 c. Spiced nuts (chopped) to the loaves. The best recipe I've tried..moist and flavorful!
