I love meat.  A great steak can make my night.  I love a good pork tenderloin.  Chicken-yes please!  Mmmm prime rib. So, why do I feel called to give up meat for Lent?   I wonder if its because deep down I feel like I need less meat in my diet...for health as well as economics..a little… MORE

Muffins, breads and cakes! I love dessert baking because I can be creative. Love doing things like Rice pudding / bread pudding / tiaramisu / cheesecakes. Our fave family meals are turkey lettuce wraps, salmon on the grill, dad's buffalo chicken, and spaghetti.

Mall Pretzels
We really like these pretzels. Made the few changes in the preparation based on other reviews, and was impressed with the results.

My-Hop Pancakes
Out of this world pancakes! I made according to directions and they were eaten up. We served with Smuckers red raspberry syrup and a dallop of cream. Made my kids morning. One batch of these fed perfectly our family of 6-with no leftovers.

Garlic Shrimp Scampi
This recipe is a great starting point...sautéed about 1 c of mushrooms, some chopped bell pepper and 2 sliced garlic cloves to the butter. I added 2 more cloves minced garlic with the shrimp. I also used red wine, a little less than 1/3 c, and added chicken broth to make 1/3 c. Served over fettuccine, this was fabulous! Kids asked e to make it tomorrow too. It's a keeper for sure.
