Garlic, Basil, and Bacon Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Yum! Really nice twist on deviled eggs. LOVE the basil in it; gives it a fresh flavor that deviled eggs are so often missing. I don't care for raw garlic so I subbed garlic powder. Thanks! :)

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Really good! This salad is not only delicious, but really pretty too. I love the clean, fresh flavors from the herbs and lemon juice. Of course, I didn't read the directions through and threw away the artichoke marinade, so I added a drizzle of olive oil for some moisture. Very good, thank you!

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
Simple and tasty! I halved the recipe and only used about 1/4 lb of bacon, which was just enough. Thanks! :)

Jim's Birthday Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
Excellent! It's really beyond me why this recipe has only 3.5 stars because it is really wonderful. The lemon zest and basil give it a wonderful fresh, vibrant flavor and I don't recommend omitting either one. I used farfalle instead of penne and added black olives. I'll definitely make this again; my husband and I really enjoyed it. Give it a try! Thanks :)

Kathy's Delicious Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Yum! We really enjoyed this. Only change I made was to use garlic powder in place of the minced just because I don't like raw garlic and also used shredded mozzarella since I had some that needed to be used up. Thanks!

Black Bean Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
This was just okay for us... certainly nothing bad about it, just not really our thing. I skipped the cheese to save calories... added cumin and corn. Thanks for sharing! :)

Veggie Skewers

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
Excellent! So simple, yet so delicious. My grill ran out of gas halfway through cooking, so I just threw the skewers onto a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 400 degrees until the vegetables were tender. I added green bell pepper chunks - will definitely use the herb mixture on lots of other veggies too. The lemon gives it such a fresh flavor. Thanks!

Pasta Chickpea Salad

Yum! I added some zucchini and red pepper flakes, but otherwise followed the recipe. Nice flavor and I liked the variety of textures. Grape tomatoes would be a nice addition. Thanks!

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Yum! Very tasty. The watermelon really makes the heat from the jalapenos tolerable to wimps like me. My husband doesn't love watermelon and he even liked this. Thanks!

American-Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
Good! It was a little on the bland side for our tastes as written - added a few additional seasonings to kick it up a notch. Also added grape tomatoes for a splash of color. As the submitter wrote in their review, the amount of peas is a little much. I made half a recipe and only used about a 1/4 cup of peas, which was plenty for us. Thanks :)

Salami Lover's Italian Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
My husband really enjoyed this. I added quartered grape tomatoes and fresh parsley, which added a nice fresh flavor. I assumed the 'creamy salad dressing' meant Miracle Whip, which we are not fans of, so I used light Hellman's mayo instead. Very good. Thanks! :)

Amazing 'Pizza' Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Excellent. We really liked these... great fresh flavors. I loved how easy it was to cook... just stuck it on the grill and lounged on the deck for 20 minutes. I did put the herbs under the tomato because I'm a rebel like that. ;) Thanks!

Cinco de Chili Chocolate Cupcakes with Chili Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Fantastic!!! Love, love, LOVE this recipe! The ancho and cayenne work wonderfully with the richness of the devil's food cake. As written, I found it to have just the right amount of kick - not overwhelming at all. It really is a great 'adult' cupcake. The frosting is KILLER and compliments the cupcakes perfectly. I will definitely make these again. Thanks! :)

Chili Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
Fabulous!!! This frosting is out of this world! The cinnamon and the ancho chile pepper & cayenne really set eachother off. I doubled the vanilla (I do in every recipe), but didn't change anything else. For people worried about it being too spicy as written, don't fret. I can't handle spice at all, but had no problem with this frosting. Absolutely fantastic; a must try. Used this on the submitter's cupcake recipe, Cinco de Chili Chocolate Cupcakes with Chili Cream Cheese Frosting. Thanks!!! :)

Daisy Brand Taco Salad

Yum! I used a tortilla bowl instead of the chips and added fresh cilantro as a garnish. I kicked myself because I forgot to buy avocado, as that would have been a great addition. Just what I was craving, thanks!

Sarah Rose's Dad's Made-Up Kind of a Salad Sort of Thing

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Good!!! Pasta salads like this are great because they are so forgiving; you can adjust them every which way and it'll still work out just fine! I skipped the onion, added crushed red pepper flakes, added cucumber, used fresh basil, and used garlic power instead of fresh because I can't handle raw garlic. I also ended up adding a little Italian dressing to add some zing. Thanks :)

Spaghetti Salad III

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
YUM! My husband and I are both on a major pasta salad kick and we liked this one a lot. Nothing exciting, just a basic Italian dressing pasta salad, but good nonetheless. I've never added shredded cheddar cheese to one before and that was a nice addition. I added chopped yellow bell pepper and used fresh basil and parsely instead of the Italian seasoning. Light and refreshing. Thanks!!! :)

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2011
Good! It gets better after chilling for a while and allowing the flavors to meld, but my husband and I both agreed it is missing *something*. I might add a little diced jalapeno or some crushed red pepper flakes to give it some zing. I did add snow peas and halved grape tomatoes which added some nice color and texture. Thanks!
