Cannoli Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I can't eat traditional cannolis because I stick to a gluten-free diet. This recipe is the answer to my prayers! Rich and delicious, this recipe will be added to my list of favorites. And it's so easy to make. This one's a winner.

All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
I've never been brave enough to try to make homemade apple butter before, but boy was this easy! I will never buy store-bought again. And what a great gift! A cute little container with a bow and you're all set. Delicious.

Homemade Vanilla Extract

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
I will never buy ready-made vanilla extract again! This was so easy to make, and the best part is, I know exactly what's in it. This is a great gift for friends. I'll be making it all year-round for myself!

Salted Caramel Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
Making this sauce takes some concentration, but in the end, it's worth it! Sweet, thick, salty... It's perfect for an ice cream topping or even drizzled over the whipped cream on top of an iced coffee! The sauce should NOT by any means taste bitter. (If it is, you've cooked it too long.) Keep a close eye on it and make sure you don't let it get too dark. Well worth the effort.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
Delicious, tender, and moist. I used muffin tins instead of my loaf pan (which I couldn't find). It didn't matter, though, because this pumpkin bread would taste great in any form!

Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
OK, so this recipe was a pleasant surprise. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Sure, I like all of the Thanksgiving food ingredients. But the mixed vegetables, added with the mayo...I was skeptical. But I have to say this casserole is absolutely fabulous! The end result is very pot pie-ish, and that's always a winner with my family. It's the ultimate comfort food, and this puts a wonderful Thanksgiving spin on it!

Cannellini Beans and Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I love anything with beans. And tomatoes. And sausage. This recipe has all of the above. Hearty, delicious comfort food. Sweet beans mixed with juicy tomatoes, savory spices, and delicious Johnsonville sausage. You can't go wrong with this recipe.

Traditional Italian Sausage Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
This recipe was a LOT of work, but the end result was well worth it. It is a flavorful, filling stuffing. I used it basically as a main course, but it would do well as a side as well. Forget the packaged stuffing. Take the time to try this one. You won't regret it!

Maple Basted Roast Turkey with Cranberry Pan Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
You can't go wrong with a delicious, maple-basted whole Butterball® turkey. The meat just fell off the bone. The maple gave the turkey just the right about of sweetness (not overpowering) and the cranberry gravy was off the chain. Served with a side (I chose carrots), you have the perfect meal. We ate EVERY BIT of this turkey in about two days (even using the bones for a soup and a stock). Outstanding.

Smoked Sausage Frittata

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
This frittata is very similar to the quiche that I make. Light and fluffy, it's great with fresh fruit, carrot salad, or on its own. The Butterball Smoked Turkey Dinner Sausage is the perfect compliment to the eggs, cheese, and veggies. My family loved it!

Beer-Braised Bison Brisket with Root Vegetables

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2013
The bison was tender and fell apart while I was cutting it. It had a nice, mild taste and excellent texture. I wasn't crazy about the beer flavor. I think next time I would leave it out completely (or add some kind of beef stock, if a liquid is actually needed). The bison had a really great flavor, though, so I will rate this recipe fairly high.

Deliciously chunky and full of flavor! Satisfies that "comfort food" need. Serve with cornbread and top with sour cream, shredded cheddar, and chopped raw onions. Goya products are awesome!

Shredded Chicken Tacos

Some of the best chicken tacos I've tried. My family devoured every last bit of it (not a leftover in sight). I've been a big fan of Goya for years, and the love affair continues!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2013
This was a good, simple pot roast recipe. It is similar to the one I traditionally make. (I tend to steer away from "packaged" flavors and seasoning and lean more toward fresh ingredients, i.e., fresh onion, fresh garlic, etc.) My family really enjoyed it!
