About this Cook
I love to cook and try new recipes. I can usually read a recipe to tell if the ingredients go well together. I have been without my own kitchen for about two years, so I will be creating like crazy for quite a while. Sept. '10 Love a real stove/oven! I am from Seattle, WA, and live in Southern CA. Still miss the GREEN. Sept '10 Still miss the Green! I really enjoy cooking things that have more than 7to10 ingredients. For me the melding of flavors is what makes the time I spend so enjoyable. Yes!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken Enchiladas -cannot find the right recipe, Tacos, Sept '10- invented my own! Lasagna, Sept '10- found out my blood type does not tolerate pasta...forget the lasagna. Soups- involved soups, Stews, most anything that takes all day.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I used to think my mom was a great cook until I started cooking. Sept '10 Sorry Mom! The only things that were outstanding that I recall, my grandmothers' cooked.
My cooking triumphs
Just about everything I try: I have recently found an enigma. He is most difficult to cook for; has given my interest in trying new things a Whole New Meaning!
My cooking tragedies
There was one: Chicken Caccitorre-not enough liquid. I was 20.

Classic Old Fashioned
Hi! Y'all made me thirsty! Used what I had on hand. Brandy, brown sugar, "Cherries in Brandy" bought at mall during Holidays {and some of the juice}, squeeze lime and lemon juices, Brandy, and ice. Nummy! Had another sip after sitting a bit, even tastier. I think the Bing cherries make this particular one, plus brown sugar.

Slow Cooker Red Curry Beef Pot Roast
I used chuck steak. Agree it is too thin. We love the flavor and tenderness of the meat. Will make again using less liquid, add sweet potato (used no potato today) and will use spinach. Again, Loved the flavor!

Extreme Veggie Scrambled Eggs
This sounds wonderful. I prefer green onions with eggs, and since I only have Almond Milk (awful with eggs) I have been using sour cream as my addition to make the eggs fluffier.
