The Marlboro Man Sandwich | The Pioneer Woman Cooks | Ree Drummond

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
These really are good. I did caramelize the onions for at least an hour but, I too, cut back on the butter to just one stick for the whole recipe. I didn't add as much Worcestershire sauce as called for but it was very, very yummy!

Macaroni and Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
Yum, Yum, Yum!! I loved the flavor of the cheese, mayo and Beau Monde seasoning. I used mezze penne for the macaroni, boiling until very done (we like soft macaroni). Had all the tiny, bitty chopping done and just added to the rinsed & vinegared macaroni. The addition of the vinegar was fantastic, not overwhelming at all. I had grape tomatoes so used a few more than called for. Simply delicious, gourmet tasting and worthy of 5 stars!!

Remoulade Sauce a la New Orleans

Delicious over crab cakes. I didn't have any capers and didn't miss them :) I halved the recipe and it still makes plenty for 4 people. Thank you cookincowgirls for posting this, it made my meal :)

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
Excellent flavor but a bit thin. I added some cornstarch mixed with a bit of chicken broth and that thickened it up nicely. I didn't have cream so I used 1/2 & 1/2, that may have been the problem with thickening. Also, I just added about 1/4 package of frozen chopped spinach instead of the fresh and that worked out just fine. I'll make this again for sure. Thanks for posting your recipe souporsweets!

Alabama Fire Crackers

The first time I made these I used soda crackers and they were just ok for me. The next time I used sourdough pretzel bites and wowzer, those were so good. Addicting!

Sweet Vanilla Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I made these for a baby shower and they were a HIT!!! Frosted with the almost professional buttercream frosting and it was just the right amount of sweetness. I did double the recipe thinking I'd get 24 cupcakes but it actually made about 34.. so I tripled the frosting recipe and it was just right for 34 cupcakes.

Strawberry Cupcakes from Pinterest

Very moist, strawberry flavor comes out very nice. I did slice up the strawberries, added some sugar and let sit over night, then pureed that to add. Quite yummy. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

Panera's Cream Cheese Potato Soup

Very good potato soup. I used lower fat cream cheese and still very good. I'd make this again. Cheap and delicious. I did add some green onion snips and some bacon pieces when serving. Very good :)

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2012
Excellent flavor and texture. I was so hungry for a good meatloaf and saw a positive review for this one. I used 2 lbs of very lean ground beef and still only 1/2 a packet of the onion soup mix. Otherwise, upped the other ingredients as written. I can't believe there was not any salt or pepper but it's still full of flavor. The sour cream is not noticeable but gives it the perfect texture for slicing thin for sandwiches, which is our favored way of eating meatloaf. I baked the 2 lbs for 45 minutes covered, uncovered for 15 minutes and then topped with some squirts of ketchup for another 15 minutes. Perfectly done and very delicious. Thanks so much for posting your recipe!

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Great technique to get tender potatoes with so much flavor. I think I liked it best the next morning spooned into a flour tortilla with a scrambled egg on top with shredded cheddar cheese. Now THAT was delicious. I'd make this ahead and just heat some up for breakfast during the week. It's that good.

Ham Slice with Pineapple-Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This was just ok. The ham steak seemed to get tougher and the sauce was very liquidy so that all just stayed in the dish. I won't be making this again.

Candy Bar Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
This is extremely sweet but the taste is great. I think next time I'll cut the sugar down a bit. I used the toffee chips from Hershey's and used about 4 oz out of the bag. It puffs up on the sides and kinda sinks in the middle. All in all, I'd make it again with a bit less sugar.

French Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
This was a very easy, right out of the pantry recipe. I did use my bread machine for the dough cycle and it turned out perfect. I halved the recipe and had one large loaf of french bread. I did put a small sheet pan with about 5 pieces of ice in when I put the loaf in the oven. I think putting the ice in made a very hearty crust.. and it's a dense loaf, not soft like the big ol' Walmart french bread. This is the kind you get at an artisan bakery or in a top end restaurant. Thanks for the great, simple recipe.

Excellent Chicken Marsala. I did use about 1/3 of the butter called for and still made a wonderful sauce over some angel hair pasta. This is my go to recipe now :) Thanks Carraba's for the great recipe.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
Very yummy. They are extreemly sweet so cut them small. My picky hubby really liked them so it's a keeper. Also, this makes a LOT of peanut butter squares.. next time I'll probably cut it in 1/2.

Fried Pickles

Excellent recipe. I think the buttermilk dunk/soak is perfect to make the cornmeal/flour stay on well while frying. We really enjoyed these, as good as any restaurant here in the south!
