Sandy's Simple Spring Lettuce Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2015
I'm not a big fan of arugula, so I just made my usual salad and mixed up this dressing to go on top...WOW, it's FANTASTIC! LOVED the simple ingredients in this, the fact that it doesn't make a TON, and, most importantly the flavor, which is sooooo good (I could've drank it, lol)! Made exactly as written and would not change a thing...perfect proportion of flavors...a definite keeper~YUM!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Gourmet Beer Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2015
Delicious! This worked out great because I had a lot of leftover cheeses from a meat/cheese tray that we had on New Year's Eve. I did sub smoked cheddar for the smoked provolone b/c that's what I had, but everything else was just as is. I didn't have soft pretzels on hand, so we just used regular pretzels, and that was fine, but I can't wait to get to the store to get some soft pretzels. Really great combo of flavors...I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Oven Roasted Ribs

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2014
Made this for Recipe Group...I liked it, but I think the cooking time for the ribs were off...they came out pretty dry. Hubby wasn't big on the sauce, but me and the little guy thought it was great! In fact, I thought this sauce would be great over cocktail meatballs for an appy, which is what I may try next time. All in all, it was tasty, but do keep check on the ribs, so they don't overcook like mine did. Thanks for sharing. :)

Leftover Ham Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
This was delicious, but I did adjust the measurements according to our tastes. I can't say that I really 'measured' anything, but I did use less celery and onion than called for and 1/2 of the rosemary, as it can be strong for us. Also, I wanted to serve this on sandwiches, so I did not use the lettuce leaves, but I did drizzled the ham salad w/ ranch dressing before serving, which gave this a nice extra layer of flavor. I'm used to making my ham salad w/ only ham, relish, pepper and mayo, so this was def a nice change and one I will be making again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Christmas Fruitcake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2014
Delicious! My first attempt at making fruitcake and it was a hit w/ everyone. I used a mix of raisins, figs, candied cherries, cranberries, and dried pineapple. Mine only got to sit for about 1 week, but it was still yummy! I also made one that wasn't soaked in rum after baking (for my son), and I liked that even better, but hubby and my dad like the rum soaked cake the best. I will def be making this every Christmas from now on~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Chocolate Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2014
FANTASTIC! I have to admit that I have not had good luck making biscotti in the past, but figured I would try this recipe b/c it sounded so good...They turned out perfectly!!!!! My only change was to use maraschino cherries instead of candied. Next time I make these, I may make the logs smaller to produce a smaller biscotti, b/c I just like a smaller cookie. This is def a new go-to recipe for biscotti...you can basically add in anything, and I plan to try other flavor combos, though this was a definite favorite. A keeper, for sure~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Boiled Mustard Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
Made this for Recipe Group...These were fine, but we thought that they really lacked flavor. The mustard taste was only slightly there (I used more mustard than called for), and they def need more salt than called for, IMO. I may try to play around with this more because I really like the idea. Thanks for sharing. :)

Jan's Loaded Pizza Fries

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2014
This is just an awesome way to have a different kind of 'loaded fries' and we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them! If you are a fan of 'loaded fries' like we are, then you'll love them too! I didn't have quite enough mozzarella, so I used some cheddar too. I just topped these like I would any pizza...sauce, cheese, pepperoni, green onions, hot pepper rings and sliced black olives...the possibilities are endless!!! I used 'Exquisite Pizza Sauce' from here for the sauce and served some ranch on the side for dipping. This is one of those great little gems that you can't believe you didn't come up with yourself, lol. I served this as a main dinner w/ a nice big salad, and that was plenty for us! Hubby was definitely loving dinner tonight, lol. I can't wait to try different pizza combinations too. Thanks, WFDM, for an awesome 'loaded fry' recipe and a definite keeper~YUM! :)

Meemaw's Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
Delicious! Very easy to mix up, and rolled perfectly! I just rolled them all in powdered sugar b/c that's hubby's favorite. I have these in the fridge 'ripening' for Christmas, but so far, they are great, and I will report back closer to Christmas. I really liked that you didn't have to melt chocolate to make these, as you do for a lot of other recipes that I have tried. I will def be making these again and again...they are sooooo easy~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Oreo® Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2014
This was a hit with both the adults and the kids! I did reduce the milk by a cup, so the pudding mixture would be thicker. Also, I saved some oreo's to sprinkle on top...a keeper, for sure~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Sriracha Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2014
AWESOME!!!!!! Super spicy, a little sweet and a HUGE hit with my guys! I marinated mine for the full 24 hrs. My little guy suggested trying this with chicken wings, so I can't wait to try it like that. I did remove the skin from the chicken thighs, just to make it a bit healthier, and that worked wonderfully. It took about 45 mins. total for the chicken to be done. Hubby wants me to make a jar of the sauce for him to take to work, lol, that's how much he loved it! The recipe didn't specify what to do with the limes and cilantro, so I just assumed to put them on before serving. I also drizzled mine w/ a bit of honey to cut the heat a bit (I like spicy, but not too spicy)...it was delicious w/ that addition. This is a definite keeper~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Tami's Red Sauce: Bolognese Tomato Sauce with Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
Simple and delicious! I did not use the amounts of basil and oregano called for per personal preference, I just used them to taste I used dried herbs). I wouldn't call this a 'Bolognese', exactly, but more of a meat sauce. Either way, it was a BIG hit with the family, and something I will def be making again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
