Mock-a-Roni

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
Delicious! I used light Velveeta in place of the cheddar, and used the Italian seasoning, to taste (personal preference). This baked up beautifully and tasted great! This made exactly 3 ramekins, which was perfect for us. I liked how I was able to assemble this earlier in the day and just refrigerate it until I was ready to bake it. I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Bow-Tie Pasta with Sausage, Peas, and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2013
Made this for Recipe Group...We liked this, but I thought it was lacking in the flavor/'sauce' department. Maybe a little crushed pepper flakes to spice it up, and a splash or 2 of chicken broth to moisten it. I did like how simple it was to prepare and all of the ingredients used. I will play around w/ this more to suit our tastes. Thanks for sharing. :)

Spicy Sausage Pasta Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2013
We loved this, though I don't know why it's called 'spicy' b/c it wasn't at all, lol! I made my own alfredo sauce instead of using bottled b/c we prefer it. Loved the addition of the red wine, which gave this a great background flavor. I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Horseshoe

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
We thought this was great! I can see how some thought it was a bit bland, though...I added some garlic powder to the cheese mixture, and seasoned the burger patties w/ salt, pepper and garlic powder before cooking. I used Ore-Ida Seasoned Crinkles for the fries, and they gave a nice flavor to the dish. served this over buttered/toasted burger buns. This was very tasty, and as we were eating, we were coming up w/ other add-ons like sauteed onios, bacon and tomato slices, all of which I plan to try next time! I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Sinless Mississippi Sin

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2013
Delicious! I only had 1 cup of sour cream, so I just went with that, but followed everything else exactly, otherwise. This was a huge hit, and one of the first dips to go at the party...A definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Fajita Quesadillas

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2013
Excellent! I did not have leftover steak, but I did make this using flat iron steak that I had marinated in worchestershire sauce, salt, pepper and garlic. These were so simple to make and very satisfying. I served them w/ sour cream, salsa and mexican rice. Great way to strech a small amount of meat. I will def be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Italian Hotdogs

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
I pretty much already knew that I was gonna love this b/c, growing up, my mom made us this ofter (minus the bread and cheese), and cutting up the hot dogs. I didn't have pepper jack cheese on hand, so I just used mozzarella, which worked great. I seasoned the potatoes/peppers/onions w/ salt pepper and garlic powder while they were cooking. I wasn't sure what hubby was gonna think of this, but he loved it! I will be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Rice pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2013
This was my first time making rice pudding from scratch, and it was delicious! I used leftover jasmine rice, and followed SHORECOOK suggestion of whisking the egg and milk together before adding it to the rice mixture, which worked out perfectly. I added some of the cinnamon to it, and just sprinkled some on top after putting it in the bowls. Mmmmm, SOOOOO GOOD, and a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Made this for our family 'dip night' tonight, and it was a HUGE hit! Made exactly as written and would not change a thing. The family devoured this...there is literally none left! Gabe said that this was a REALLY GOOD dip night, so I told him I would let you know, lol. Thanks, LN, for sharing another great recipe...this is a definite keeper~YUM! :)

The 'Whiz-Wit' Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
I actually had the pleasure of making this before it became 'Kitchen Approved', and have made it MANY times since. Here is my original review: We just got done eating this for our 'dip night' and oh my, this stuff is AWESOMELY DELICIOUS! I did it a little differently, but with great results only because I wanted to assemble it ahead of time and cook it later. I cooked the meat and onions and combined those, put them into my mini slow cooker and added all the other ingredients (including the optional ingredients) and put it into the fridge until I was ready to cook it. When I was ready, I just put it on low and let it go for about 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Everything melted perfectly! I served it with lightly toasted italian bread pieces. This was a HUGE hit with all of us, even my little guy. Thanks so much, JJsMama, for sharing this new dip favorite that I will be making very often~YUM! :)

Mother-in-Law's Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2013
I haven't even let this set in the fridge yet, and I already LOVE it! I did reduce the cumin to 1/2 tsp. (personal preference), and just used the salt to taste, but followed the recipe exactly otherwise. The dressing is excellent, and combines with all of the ingredients perfectly...A definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :) NOTE: I did end up having to add more salt, so I do think the amount of salt, though it may seem excessive, is spot on. :)

Classic Smoked Sausage Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
We LOVED this! I cut the recipe in 1/2 and made homemade alfredo, instead of using the jar (we like it better). This was rich, creamy and delicious! We really enjoyed the addition of the sausage too...served with some broccoli, this made the perfect weeknight meal! I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Pork Lo Mein

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
Made this for Recipe Group...This was very good! I made the mistake of using rice noodles instead of linguine b/c I had some to use up. They ended up getting pretty gummy, but it was no fault of the recipe. The pork, veggies and sauce were tasty, and I will def be making this again, with linguine, lol. Thanks for sharing. :)

Delicious! I scaled this down to make one roll. I also had some green pepper to use up, so I cooked that w/ the ground beef. Nice combo of flavors and VERY filling...a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Mom-Mom's Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
Delicious! I halved the recipe and used my 11x7 baking pan (well sprayed w/ cooking spray), and that worked out perfectly. I did omit the raisins (may try them sometime), and subbed pecans for walnuts b/c that's what I had on hand. These baked up beautifully, and came out of the pan, no problem. I will def be making these again and again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Quick Chicken and Stuffing Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2013
I knew we would 'like' this b/c we like everything in it, but it went beyond like, we absolutely LOVED it! This could not have been easier to prepare, but the end results seemed like it too a lot of effort. I served it w/ mashed potatoes, extra gravy and cranberry sauce. With the cooler temps approaching, this will be a staple. This is awesome comfort food...a definite keeper~YUM Thanks for sharing. :)

Haluski - Cabbage and Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
Delicious! my recipe is similar to this, but I've never baked it. I did cut the butter by 1/2 and replaced it w/ a bit of olive oil. Also, I baked it covered for a bit b/c I didn't want it to dry out...it came out moist and yummy. This is serious comfort food~YUM Thanks for sharing. :)
