Oriental Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
This was good, the guys loved it, but it was not my favorite. Maybe I do not like hoisin sauce as much as I thought I did, as I felt that it was very strong in this. I did like the thickness of it tho. I did add more sugar than called for after tasting it and a bit of sirracha sauce for some kick. This was fine for our steamed dumplings tonight. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hash Brown Waffles

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
Fun, simple and delicious! I used a bag of refrigerated shredded hash browns, so I omitted step 2. I also added in some onion powder, but would like to try adding fresh onion next time. I could see adding a lot of different spices. I made mine smaller and got 6 out of the recipe. I cooked them about 5 mins. or so. I was worried about them sticking, but they didn't. Very cool and a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Entenmann's Crumb Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2014
Very good! I do think the topping is a little much, as far as the flour, and it makes the cake a bit dry, so next time I will remove the 2 cups for the topping, but only use 1 cup along w/ the rest of the topping ingredients as written. Gabe and I made this together (I was the 'helper', lol). We also added in some mini chocolate chips to the topping and that was nice. I will def be making this again, as everyone really liked it! Thanks for sharing. :)

Jan's Jalapeno Popper Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2014
This was the BEST jalapeno popper pizza recipe that I have ever made or tried! I used *Sherri*'s personal recipe 'Basic Pizza Dough' for the crust, and stuffed the crust w/ mozzarella for extra cheesy goodness. This was so good that hubby already said that I have to make this for him to take to the guys at work. I seriously think that I 'sauce' would even be great just as a dip for pita chips, mmmm. I will be using this recipe again and again~YUM! Thanks for sharing another winner, Jan! :)

Mom's Awesome Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
Very nice! I liked the slightly 'different' flavor from the key lime juice (used a bit more than called for), and the creaminess from the sour cream was a nice addition. Great variation on one of my favorite dips! Thanks for sharing. :)

Avocado Fries with Sriracha Garlic Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
LOVED THESE! I do have to say that you do not need 1 cup of flour or 1 cup of breadcrumbs. I used 1/3-1/2 cup of each and that was plenty. I used a mix of seasoned panko and regular seasoned breadcrumbs, which gave these an incredibly crunchy coating that I loved. As far as the sauce goes...2 Tbsps. of garlic powder to 3 Tbsps. of sour cream is too much, IMO, so I used the garlic powder to taste. Sprinkle the 'fries' with some salt, and you're good to go! A great, healthy alternative, that I will definitely be making again and again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Tastefully Simple Beer Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
This was very good! It was a bit on the sweet side, but it went really well with our potato soup tonight. I did use the optional butter, and I suggest doing the same, as it gave the bread a nice, slightly salty flavor that we really enjoyed. Very simple...I would make this again! Thanks for sharing. :)

Chik-Fil-A® Slaw (Copycat)

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2014
Delicious! I've never had Chik-Fil-A's slaw, but we loved this one. It is more on the sweeter side and has a thinner dressing as lutzflcat mentioned. This actually sort of reminded me of KFC's slaw. I will def be making this one again and again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Tex-Mex Migas

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2014
Made this for Recipe Group...Delicious! I didn't want the chips to get soggy, so I crushed them on top after I put the eggs on the tortilla, and I'm glad that I did b/c it gave this a nice salty/crunchy texture that I really enjoyed. Also I didn't cook the tomatoes, just put them on top before adding the taco sauce. Great flavor and so simple...a definite keeper for a quick, yummy breakfast (or dinner, lol)! Thanks for sharing. :)

A Homemade San Francisco Treat: Chicken Vermicelli Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
What can I say...This was DELICIOUS! So simple to make and waaaaay better tasting than the box stuff. Because I decided to make this on a whim, I didn't have any vermicelli, so I subbed orzo, and that worked out fine. This is a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks, SHORECOOK, for sharing another winner! :)

How To Make Focaccia

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
FANTASTIC! I have to say that I, personally, did not make this, but my mom did and she shared...it was truly amazing. Just like you would get at the Italian bakery. She did say that it was a bit 'time consuming', but it was very easy, and because it was such a hit with the whole family, she would definitely make it again. She topped hers with tomatoes, caramelized onions and fresh mozzarella~YUM! I cannot wait to make this myself...VERY soon! Thanks for sharing. :)

Danielle's Fattoush Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2014
LOVED IT!!!!! I am a lover of Lebanese-style salads (after all, I am part Lebanese, lol), and this was no exception. Really great combo of flavors and the dressing was just right, IMO. I did use the optional ground sumac. I did not have Greek seasoning on hand, so I just used Italian seasoning (I know it's NOT the same), but it worked well. Also, I didn't measure any of the salad ingredients, just eyeballed everything. This was a huge hit tonight and a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Fudge Truffle Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
WOW...FANTASTIC! I baked this an hour w/ a water bath, turned off the oven and left it in another hour. This is the first cheesecake I've ever made that did not crack, YAY! This was simple to put together and the taste is wonderful, rich and creamy. I topped mine w/ a simple ganache, once cooled...perfect. This is a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Zesty Pickled Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Very good and so easy to make! Do allow these to set in the fridge for at least the time specified, as they get better that way. I wasn't sure how the flavors were gonna go together, but they were great. I decided to only cut my mushrooms in 1/2 because they were on the smaller side. We ate these as is, but they would make a great addition to a salad or on a anti-pasta platter. I will be making these again! Thanks for sharing. :)

Honey-Lime Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2014
Very, VERY good! I liked that this used lime juice instead of the usual lemon, and all of the flavors complimented each other well. I didn't bother to dirty the blender making this, I just threw everything into a jar w/ a tight fitting lid and shook the heck out of it...worked like a charm! Very nice and refreshing. I will be making this one again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
