About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 11 years), my son Gabriel (he is 7), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Boiled Mustard Potatoes
Made this for Recipe Group...These were fine, but we thought that they really lacked flavor. The mustard taste was only slightly there (I used more mustard than called for), and they def need more salt than called for, IMO. I may try to play around with this more because I really like the idea. Thanks for sharing. :)

Jan's Loaded Pizza Fries
This is just an awesome way to have a different kind of 'loaded fries' and we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them! If you are a fan of 'loaded fries' like we are, then you'll love them too! I didn't have quite enough mozzarella, so I used some cheddar too. I just topped these like I would any pizza...sauce, cheese, pepperoni, green onions, hot pepper rings and sliced black olives...the possibilities are endless!!! I used 'Exquisite Pizza Sauce' from here for the sauce and served some ranch on the side for dipping. This is one of those great little gems that you can't believe you didn't come up with yourself, lol. I served this as a main dinner w/ a nice big salad, and that was plenty for us! Hubby was definitely loving dinner tonight, lol. I can't wait to try different pizza combinations too. Thanks, WFDM, for an awesome 'loaded fry' recipe and a definite keeper~YUM! :)
