About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 11 years), my son Gabriel (he is 7), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Memaw's Country Eggs Goldenrod
Tasty! I've never had anything like this before, and I thought it turned out good. I did reduce the servings, so it didn't take near as long as stated to boil/thicken. Also, I did add extra salt and pepper b/c I felt it needed it. This was fun to try and different...I would make it again! Thanks for sharing. :)

Easiest Asparagus Recipe
Very good! I really likes the sweetness of the honey w/ the spice of the cayenne. I did add some salt, but that was my only addition. I opted to use evoo in place of the butter to keep it healthier (I know the butter would've been even better, lol). The family enjoyed these and I would make them again! Thanks for sharing. :)

Joy's Easy Banana Bread
I did't get to try this yet, but the family LOVED it! I only had 4 large-ish bananas, so I just used those, which worked out fine. Also, I did reduce the salt to only 1 teaspoon b/c I felt that 2 would be too much. This baked longer than an hour in my oven...had to add about another 15-20 mins. (I covered the top of the bread w/ foil so that it wouldn't get too dark). This makes a HUGE loaf...great for sharing! This was very easy to throw together...a keeper! Thanks for sharing. :)
