Saturday night is the designated 'dip night' in our house. We all look forward to it every week and the guys like to decide what we will have and what we will be watching. We set out a blanket, all gather on it, and enjoy whatever we decided on for that night. We joke that now that the girls… MORE

About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 10 years), my son Gabriel (he is 6), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

D's Taco Pizza
Made this for Recipe Group...Delicious! I ran out of time, so I didn't make the sauce, just used straight salsa, and that worked perfectly. I will def be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Fresh Mushroom Rice Pilaf
We loved this! I omitted the green pepper (didn't have any), and added garlic in with the mushroom/onion mixture. Great combo of flavors...I will be making this again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Grandmother's Peach Fuzz
Made this for Recipe Group...We LOVED this!!!!! This was so refreshing and delicious! I used white peaches, and instead of using ice cubes, I just chunked up the peaches and froze them before proceeding w/ the recipe, which worked perfectly and didn't water the drink down. With summer fast approaching, this is a definite keeper~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
