About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 12 years), my son Gabriel (he is 8), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Easy and Simple Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps
This was great for a light lunch! I did use brown rice and the optional soy sauce...nothing major, but tasty and something I would never had thought of. The girls liked these too...Thanks for sharing. :)

Tisa's Big Top Watermelon Salad
Delicious and sooooo refreshing! I did omit the arugula as we do not care for it and had to use some dried mint in place of the fresh. I can't wait to try this in the summer when everything is at the peak of freshness. Loved the flavor/texture combo...a definite keeper~YUM!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Mango-Tomatillo Guacamole
YUM! Great combo of flavors and textures. The store was out of fresh mint, so I used a bit of dried and that was fine. Served w/ salty tortilla chips, this was a hit~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
