Heart disease runs in both my mother's side of the family and mu husband's side of the family. Sadly, we have lost many family members to the horrible disease. My mom was diagnosed with congenital heart failure 11 years ago, and had a difibulator/pace maker put in 3 years ago. Hubby had a… MORE

About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 10 years), my son Gabriel (he is 7), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.

EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.

Simple and delicious! I only made 1 pie, so I halved all the ingredients, which worked out great. I'm used to having/making this w. bread dough, so I wasn't sure about using pie crust, but I was pleasantly surprised. I will be using this recipe again and again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Ultimate Baked French Fries
Delicious! I used evoo instead of the veg oil, some dried basil b/c I didn't have fresh on hand and I may have used a bit more cheese than called for (I used freshly grated). These crisped up nicely and had wonderful flavor. I will be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)
