About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 12 years), my son Gabriel (he is 8), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Gluten-Free Portobello Pizza
Really delicious! I wish I would've read the recipe better b/c I bought reg. mozzarella cheese instead of fresh, but it worked out fine (I will get fresh and try them again!). I also topped them w/ a bit of shredded parm. Hubby wouldn't eat this for a main dish (I would), but it sure did make a great, tasty side...I will def be making these again~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Sweet and Spicy Edamame
AWESOME!!!! So simple to make and so much flavor. The recipe calls for 'shelled' edamame, but I notice the pic by Raquel is of the ones in the shell, so I guess it doesn't really matter, but I used the ones out of the shell. The family (even the girls) gobbled up every last one. BTW, sorry for the bad pic, it's been gloomy/stormy here all day. This is a def keeper~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing. :)

Chef John's Classic Macaroni Salad
Very good! This really does taste like the mac salad that you get at the deli. While this won't replace our favorite mac salad, this was great for a change and something I will def be make again when we want something different. Thanks for sharing. :)
