...SIKE...It IS another blog about butter! MADE YOU LOOK, LOL! :) Anyway, moving on... I have to be completely honest here, my main memory of butter is that growing up we ate A LOT of it (it was the only thing that my mom had in the house)! I remember that my mom had this tan colored plastic… MORE

About this Cook
Hi Everyone! My name is Christina and I live in Pittsburgh (born and raised here) with my husband, Jim (we have been married for 9 years), my son Gabriel (he is 5), and our twin baby girls born June 22, 2011, Abby and Ally. I love cooking and sharing recipes and have a pretty extensive cookbook/recipe collection. I think my love of cooking comes from my mom and dad. We are definately a family that loves to cook (AND EAT!). I also enjoy watching hockey, LET'S GO PENS!, walking, crocheting and doing crafts. I am looking forward to meeting alot of new people here, and sharing tips and ideas.
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING! I love trying new things and we are not a picky family, so anything goes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cook with love and patience. I am 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Lebanese, so we have tons of family traditions.
My cooking triumphs
When I was maybe 12 years old, I had a dinner party for some close neighbors and I made stuffed shrimp, homemade gnocchi with sauce, salad, homemade croissants and creme caramel for dessert. I was so proud of myself. When I cook and I can see the look of enjoyment on the people I am servings faces, that is a triumph all in itself.
My cooking tragedies
None that I can recall, LOL!

Mediterranean Brown Rice Salad
Made this for Recipe Group...This was nice for a change! I made my life even easier and used a bag of 'steamfresh brown rice', which cooked up in no time. I halved the dressing b/c these was less rice in the bag, and used roasted red peppers instead of fresh. Also, I omitted the raisins, they just didn't sound good to me in this. Loved all of the different textures going on in this! All in all this made a nice, light lunch, and I would make it again! Thanks for sharing. :)

Hamburguesas Mexicanas
This is, hands down, one of the best burgers that I have tried from this site and definitely worthy of more than 5 stars! Aside from scaling the recipe down for 2 burgers, adding some salt to the pico and a little garlic powder to the guacamole, I kept the recipe the same. Served these on toasted buns. All of the flavors blended perfectly...DELICIOUS! I will be making these often~YUM! Thanks for sharing. :)

Mexican-Style Deviled Eggs
These were good, but I was hoping for a more Mexican-y flavor. I added some salt and pepper and garnished them w/ black olives and an extra sprinkling of chili powder. I may try to play around w/ the flavors more b/c I think there is potential here. Thanks for sharing. :)
