Hot Greek Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2015
For my diet I am trying to eat more fresh greens and vegetables to make it complete. I like anything over rice or pasta, hot preferably which made this a terrific meal except for the olives that I do not prefer in my meals. The chicken breast is a good addition to this Hot Greek Salad that I hope to make again.

Artichoke and Salmon Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2015
I sampled this recipe for the Virtual Reality event No 7. I used cilantro instead of parsley and missed adding the Greek seasoning to the recipe. I enjoyed this dip with my favourite corn chips for a nice light dinner.I would recommend this to anyone who has a liking for homemade dips.

Chef John's Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: May 1, 2015
For the all star Canada Cooks event I made Chef John's Irish Soda Bread using yogurt instead of buttermilk which made it very moist and delicious. I think this is a good bread to have at a luncheon or with tea. If you are looking for bread sweetened without sugar this is the one to try with honey and raisins for extra sweetness.

Refried Black Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2015
I made this Refried Black Bean recipe Activity #4 in the Spring Bling event 2015. It is really easy to make with minimal work and great results for your efforts. I accidentally used Kidney Beans instead of Black Beans but I think it is still worthy of a 5 star rating on allrecipes.

Lemon Cake From Scratch

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2015
As a person with good health in mind I looked at this recipe and decided to make just half the recipe and it will have just the right amount of key ingredients and still be moist and delicious. It would go well with some whipped cream and fruit for an Afternoon Tea. I gave it 5 stars since it was very moist and not to dry.I made this cake for the All Star Cooks Spring Bling event # 3.

Chicken Stew!

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2015
I tried this recipe for the Spring Bling event that I am participating in with this recipe of Chicken Stew. I and everyone else think it should a soup instead of a stew. If I were to make it again I would use frozen peas instead of canned and I would name the dish Chicken Vegetable Medley which is more appropriate for this type of meal. It is good otherwise.

Sour Cream Fruit Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2015
For a person who does not eat a lot of sweet things the pie was just a touch to sweet for me in the filling. The graham cracker crust stayed together well and held up well under pressure. The sour cream added a nice cheese cake texture for the pie that was a delight to eat. I would make this recipe again. It is a very enjoyable dessert.

Georgina's True English Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2015
For the first time making this recipe I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to make and remove from the oven without much fuss. Unfortunately some stuck to the bottom of the pan and made a mess for me to clean up but others were very easy and made the experience that much more fun. I rated this recipe a 5 star rating since they were just the right amount of sweetness without anything extra added to them.

Canadian Butter Tarts

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2015
For the first assignment in the Canada All Stars cooks competition I made this recipe of Canadian Butter Tarts. Making the pastry was very easy for me and then making the filling was a breeze. I absolutely love the flavour of these tarts and would make this recipe again. Very good tasting.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
I wanted to make some Clam Chowder so I decided to try this recipe and I am glad that I did since it turned out very good with some cheddar cheese added to the soup to give it some better flavour and improve the texture of it. I put both light cream and 2 % Milk which I think gives it the same amount of sweetness that all cream would give which I think has kicked it up a notch with my new addition.

Turkish Red Lentil 'Bride' Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2013
As a cook who likes to eat a lot of vegetarian recipes for my main course meal this soup is a very good source of vegetable protein with red lentils that is so easy to make and rewards you with a very delicious bowl of soup with the lemon slices added for a garnish that gives the soup nice tang. The one change that I made was to add oat bran instead of bulgur that did not seem to make a big difference to the outcome of this soup. I would certainly recommend this soup to others who are looking for an easy soup to make that is very nutritious for you.

West Coast Trail Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2013
I am busy making cookies all the time so I thought I should try this recipe out and see if I can make some good ones to sell to the public. These are great cookies that all I did differently was add some baking powder, leave out chocolate chips, oats and vanilla, but that did not hurt them a bit. I think these are a jewel for cookie makers.
