About this Cook
I have dairy and gluten food allergies, so I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking/baking from scratch. I love to spend time in my kitchen creating new recipes, altering recipes I want to eat so they are dairy and gluten free, and cooking/baking.
My favorite things to cook
I really like food that is very satisfying nutritionally and healthy. I love to make foods that truly compliment each other and you get the satisfying taste of everything in one bite. I do also have a sweet tooth, but find that less satisfying, but nonetheless love to make desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking a wonderful prime rib dinner at Easter rather than the traditional ham and having our wonderful friends over when we lived in Texas.
My cooking triumphs
I have been able to adapt most of my favorite recipes into dairy and gluten free and still enjoy them tremendously, if not more so. My family now eats how I eat, even though they don't have any food allergies. I love pizza and have made some awesome pizzas, so when we get together for pizza I no longer feel left out!
My cooking tragedies
It takes the correct flour substitutions when baking. I really depend on others for the baking aspect, because when I try substituting on my own it always flops!!! Thanks for others who are so much better at this so I can enjoy a favorite bread, cake and pancakes!!!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
Wow! I never expected the flavor explosion from turkey meatloaf! This is the best ever and will be in my recipe rotation from now on. My husband loves his beef, but he really liked this, we both agree it is a keeper! I didn't have ketchup and so I used the Chile sauce mentioned in one of the reviews. When we sat down to eat my husband offered ketchup to our guests, and I said well that's great, but we don't have any. Everyone agreed there was such great flavor that nothing else was needed!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken
The chicken has an excellent blend of flavors and is so moist and tender we didn't even need a knife. This will go in my chicken rotation of meals.
