Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs
I did not add any sugar to the meatballs and they were fine without it. We cut the veggies to a small dice because little kids were eating it. I doubled the sauce recipe but only added a scant one third cup of brown sugar. We also added pineapple chunks. Next time I will only add 1/4 cup of brown sugar or less to see if that helps the over-the-top sweetness of the dish. We served it for dinner and served it over brown rice /quinoa mix from Costco that takes 90 seconds in the microwave and roasted Brussels sprouts.

King Crab Appetizers
These were very easy, but I thought lacked in flavor. I will make again but as others have suggested I will use twice as much crab (real crab, not surimi) and add a tablespoon of lemon juice and maybe up the worcestershire a bit. I used pre-made phyllo cups, as suggested, and thought they left sort of a pasty aftertaste. Next time I will try pre-made puff pastry cups and if still not great, I will use the ref rig. biscuit dough in mini muffin tins. Still a very nice, easy appetizer.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes In The Slow Cooker
I have been making a version of these potatoes for years. I use french onion soup dip instead of sour cream and do not add chicken broth or so much butter (just a few pats on top of potatoes when they get baked). I also have never tried them in the crock pot. I just make them ahead and put them in the oven with the rest of the side dishes. I have also made them frequently without the cream cheese and just added some milk to make them creamier and somewhat healthier. If you have the room in your oven, I don't know why you'd dirty another dish to put them in the crockpot.
