Tasty Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
I followed the recipe except used 2 cans (14.5oz each) of cut green beans (1 can did not look like enough); ommitted alcohol (could not find either). Just AWESOME. Will be making again soon. Thanks so much!

Broccoli Cheese Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
This is awesome! I have made it twice thus far. 1st time did by the recipe; 2nd time I used Original Almondmilk instead, ommitted most of the butter & used a mixture of pepperjack & mozzarrella since that was what I had on hand. The 2nd time (although it sounds funky) was AWESOME. The 1st version is also GREAT, but I do think that the swiss is a little bland for me.

Beer-Boiled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
Very very good recipe! Added garlic powder and black pepper to onion butter mixture. Omitted the salt, and using half the amount of butter (no salt added butter too). Added Old Bay to the shrimp and threw in a Bay leaf for good measure. (Dunk bread into the juices, you will not be disappointed, my hubby was not.) I am freezing the leftover juice for a later adventure. Thank you so much for the recipe! Very good without my additions as well.

Black Beans, Corn, and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Definately use Zatarain's yellow rice mix! The seasonings in the mix is what this dish needed. Follow the box directions; heat corn and black beans while rice is cooking. I put the cumin in with the corn and black beans. Mix together. I served this as a side with fish tacos. So delicious!!!

Anaheim Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I would not put the fish in the broth mixture. This made the fish very soggy. The peppers were delicious, but the fish was inedible.

Glasser's Greek Marlin

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
I used Swordfish, had 4oz fillets. I think that spooning the butter mixture ontop of the fillets is a good idea to cut down the soggy consistency. When you are using the fresh basil, the amount is measured in ounces, but this is not the weight. If you use the weight versus the cup measurement, you will have way too much fresh basil. Just an FYI. Fantastic recipe. Will make again. May puree half of the tomato mixture to add to linguine next time. I put the tomato mixture over linguine, and husband thought that pureeing it would be better for him. I liked it unpureed on top of the DreamFields pasta. =)

Easy Slow Cooker Carne Guisada

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
This recipe gave me a lot of inspiration! Used 3 serrano peppers like one user had suggested...this made the heat perfect! Will absolutely make again. Also, I agree with the last few reviewers. Please, when you rate a recipe...rate the one that was submitted...not YOUR version of recipe and then make ugly comments. Thank you for the great ideas good reviewers!!!

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
I liked it very well. I listened to other reviews who stated this recipe was very hot, so I cut the red pepper and black pepper in half. Used fresh italian parsley and dried for the rest (due to availablity). Did not have white pepper so omitted and other reviews stated to do this. Used a six italian cheese blend and parmesean as stated by the recipe (I added a little more than called for). Used sea salt. I loved the taste, but my hubby did not. Next time I will follow the recipe to the tee and use all the peppers and not cut it in half. Will try it again, but for my friends and not the hubby.

Spice It Up Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
Soup is very good. I altered it though and the prep time took me about 30 minutes. I took the sausage out of the casing and browned it with the beef. Added some black pepper with the meat while browning. Added 1 and 3/4 cup carrots to increase the veggies and added a can of black beans to the mix (rinse the beans with cold water). Very very good - had my co-workers all try it and had very good reviews.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I used 2 cans low sodium tomato and 2 cans low sodium cream of mushroom. I stirred the cans of soup with the 1 packet of onion soup mix in the crock pot and then added the meat on top of the gravy and pushed the meat down so that the gravy covered the meat. I stirred the gravy every 2 hrs due to my need to check on stuff. After 10 hrs, the meat was so tender that it just melted in your mouth. Very delicious on top of homemade garlic cheese bread and on top of homemade mashed potatoes! So good!!!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
My husband thinks I can cook meatloaf, when it fact it has been this recipe for the last couple of years. I have tried several things to change the recipe around. I always throw in some diced red onion, green peppers (occasionally an some aniheim pepper too - very spicy). I like to mix up some ketchup with some heinz 57 as the ketchup topper of the meatloaf (with some spices of course). Never have been told that my meatloaf was bad yet! Recommend with 5 gold stars!!!
