World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
Fantastic! I have made the Sauce recipe a few times and decided to finally make the Lasagna recipe. We were not disappointed! I left out the fennel in the sauce because I don't care for it. I also double the amount of ricotta and added an extra egg. I used shredded mozzarella instead of the sliced. So good! Thanks!

Ranch Style Oyster Crackers

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
So easy and tasty! Followed the recipe exactly, although I think my package of crackers was slightly bigger but I found that it didn't make a difference. 15 minutes was right on. Great snack!

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
Great recipe! I had never made coney sauce before and i'm glad that I picked this recipe for my first try. So easy to make and I loved being able to throw everything in my crockpot to simmer. The sauce was great on my hotdogs! In fact, I could have just eaten the sauce by itself!

Zucchini and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I liked this recipe and will probably make again, but will try it a little differently next time. I think the baking time was too long for the zucchini, mine got a little too mushy. The potatoes were right on. I left out the pepper because I didn't have any, but will definitely add it next time. The seasoning was right on and I liked the addition of the bread crumbs. Overall it was pretty good. Thanks!

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Great meatballs! I love Blue Cheese, so when I saw this recipe I definitely had to try it. Instead of chopping up some jalapeno peppers I had some leftover from a can of chopped ones. I used close to 3 tablespoons worth. I also reduced the amount of black pepper a little to around 1/2 tablespoon. Instead of rolling the meatballs out I used my larger sized cookie scoop to scoop on the mixture. Baking time was right on. Thanks!

Greek Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
Simple and delicious! I love Feta and it added a nice touch to ordinary scrambled eggs! I did replace the water with milk instead because that's how I like to make my eggs. Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
Perfect Comfort Food! This was a great, hearty meal for a cold, snowy winter night! I used 4 thick cut pork chops and doubled the amount of sauce. Instead of the wine, I replaced it with chicken broth. I baked first for close to 40 minutes, covered with the sauce and baked for the additional 30 minutes. The pork was so tender! The gravy was delicious and we spooned it over homemade mashed potatoes. Great recipe!!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
Not bad, the mixture was a little dry so I added an extra egg. Probably could have added a little milk or less bread crumbs. They were falling apart a little while frying. The flavor was decent, but could have used a little something more.

Pepperoncini Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
Fabulous! So easy and full of flavor! I put my roast in the crockpot still partially frozen and threw the garlic & pepperoncini's on top. Cooked it onl low for almost 10 hours while I was at work. The meat was so tender. Makes great sandwiches! I spread a little bit of mayo on the bun, then added the meat mixture and a slice of provolone cheese. I threw them under the broiler for a bit to toast the bread & melt the cheese. Definitely a keeper!

This was fantastic!! I had been searching for a great homemade pasta sauce and my search has just ended! Love the mixture of the sweet sausage and ground beef. The only thing I changed was to leave out the fennel seed since I didn't have any. Thanks for a great recipe John!

Gloria's Rum Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
Fabulous & so easy! I followed the recipe exactly. Instead of baking in a big bundt pan, I have a tray that has 12 mini bundt pans and baked them in there instead. Kept the temp @ 350 and bake time was 18 minutes. So delicious! Thanks!

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Fabulous! So easy and very tasty! I covered my cookie sheet with foil and found that one sleeve of crackers covered the whole thing. Definitely follow the tips to let the butter & sugar boil for 3 minutes after it comes to a rolling boil. And, do not stir during that time. I used milk chocolate chips since that's what I had on hand. And, instead of nuts I sprinkled some colored sugar crystals on for the holidays! Threw the whole pan in the fridge for close to an hour and they were set up perfectly. The foil lifted right out of the pan and peeled right off the back of the cookies. Great recipe!
