Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
Nope...and I love brussel sprouts, but this just didn't make it for me. I ended up adding quite a bit of golden balsamic vinegar to try to counteract the bacon grease.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2014
used almonds instead of walnuts, and yoghurt instead of sour cream. It did take longer to bake than recipe calls for (as noted by DLPALMA), but it is still very good, especially toasted in the morning!

Yep, easy and tasty! Couldnt even tell I used venison and antelope. Did add about a tablespoon each of A1 and worchestershire sauces.

Pecan Turtles® Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
Nope. Too gritty when done. Carmel "sauce" didn't cover entire pan, made more. some pieces are just chocolate, a nut, and crust... no carmel.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2013
The dough was so sticky we had to use a metal spatula to get it back off the counter. We added almost 3 CUPS additional flour, re-chilled it, and wasted almost 2 pounds of powdered sugar trying to get it to roll out. This dough stuck better than most glues do. Deleting it from my recipe box after wasting almost two afternoons on this mess. Moved on to spritz cookies....

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
I followed the recipe to the T, even used a candy thermometer as the print version in the magazine suggested. I ended up with something between soft-ball taffy and fudge. Too sticky to roll into taffy and wrap in waxed paper or parchment, after being cut, it re-melts back into a blobby mess. I'm going to try heating it enough to reuse it on some "turtle bars."

Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
This was actually quite easy and they are fantastic! I halved the recipe to only make 12, and frosted with a simple chocolate butter cream frosting. Everyone is asking for more, so I guess i should have just made the whole 24 cupcakes the first time!

Carb-Savers: Taste of Thailand

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
Wonderful! I made no changes and everyone has loved all three dishes. Served optional Sriachi on the side in case anyone wanted more heat, but no takers! Dishes were quite easy to make, too. Everything was ready in one hour.
