About this Cook
Lucky Wife & Mama...:) of Jimmy, & Hannah Rae-Ann & Gabriella.
My favorite things to cook
I love learning to cook ALL kinds of things! But if I had to choose a favorite, I seem drawn to comfort food especially in winter.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Everyone gathering around and bringing their own special dish to share. Or the smell of one of my mama's fresh baked pies filling the whole house!
My cooking triumphs
hmmm. I would have to say preparing holiday meals would rank at the top. However anytime my finicky girls gladly clean their plates I feel quite triumphant! lol ;)
My cooking tragedies
Don't have to think too hard on this one tehehe.... the first time I baked a chess pie... I tried to use margarine and OH YES... it was nothing but oil...:-0

Banana Blueberry Muffins
Following the recipe exactly, I found that these muffins lacked flavor and were overly dense. however I will try this again with a few modifications. Allowing the batter to sit before baking, and adding some sweetness would be a great improvement.

Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting
As recommend by Celeste I made this frosting for her sweetheart cupcakes....... in one word. Perfection! I did as suggested by another member & added an envelope of gelatin and it held up fabulously! Thank you Jo-Lynn for giving such a great go to recipe!
