About this Cook
Growing up with my dad - who was a single father, I never cared for cooking. He loved cooking and was amazing at it. I just didn't understand how he could find joy in such hard work. I remember one day my dad asked if I wanted to help, I said ok. I attempted to chop a carrot, and said "Dad I'm tired". Can you believe that?! So, I started cooking about 5 years ago. It has grown to be my biggest passion. I live with the man of my dreams and love making beautiful meals together or by myself. We rarely eat out, most of the restaurants serve food you can make at home. However, there is a restaurant that serves amazing food from Nepal/Himalaya that I'll eat any day. My biggest goal in the cooking realm, is make my own recipes one day and to continue to improve my techniques. Bon Appetit!
My favorite things to cook
Just about everything except seafood. I haven't quite acquired a taste for seafood, for some reason. I love making everything I can from scratch, it is exhilarating. My favorite vegetable is brussel sprouts, deliciously sauted with butter and garlic.

My dad always said - It's not about the pasta, it's about the sauce.
My cooking triumphs
Random - but Hambuger buns would a huge triumph for me. I have never made bread before in my life. I was actually kind of nervous. I was not sure if my kneading was correct, or if I put the yeast in properly. In the end, the people I made dinner for, loved them and said they made the meal. We had chili burgers that night. Pure satisfaction.
My cooking tragedies
It took 2 epic fails before I made my first soufflé. I know it is not really not that complicated but... the first two times, I got yolk in the egg whites. Ugh.. both times I didn't have enough eggs to start over. What a nightmare, they didn't even come close to stiffening. You can bet when I made a souffle for the first time, I opened a bottle of my favorite wine and toasted with my boyfriend. He was cheering me on the whole time, it was adorable. :)

Apple Squares
Exquisite. I added a couple tablespoons of unsweetened apples sauce. One of my favorite deserts by far. Thank you!

French Baguettes
Wonderful flavor and crust. Added a little bit more flour to the mixture. I didn't use a bread machine and just kneaded the dough. Preheated my oven to 250 for about 1-2 minutes and let it rise in there. Speeding up the time. We made sandwiches with Turkey, Spinach, Caramelized Shallots and Spicy brown mustard. Thank you.

Roasted Radishes
This was interesting. I used black radishes and lime instead of lemon. Next time I will use lemon, as the lime was too strong. Thyme is a great compliment. Thank you.
