San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
WOW! This is the best bread i've ever made, even with my starter only being 2 days old. I made 2 hugh round loves. My family was fighting over the last pieces. I didn't use the onions but I did spray a little water in the oven for a crispy crust. I also made an egg wash of 1 egg and 1 teaspoon salt to brush over the top. On one of my loves I slashed the top with a knife before I let it rise the second time and the other one I shashed after the second rise because I didn't know how to do it. The one I slashed before the second rise did better. the other one deflated a bit and didn't look as pretty, now I know.***update** I made this again and this time I kneeded in sundried tomatoes into half the bread and the other half I used garlic cloves cut into 1/4th and They were both so good we had them half gone while they were still warm!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
Great recipe! I make a sauce with 1 can cream of chicken & mushroom soup, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 tablespoon dijon mustard. I mixed well and put under the chicken so the breadcrumbs didn't get soggy. Everyone loved it.

Mall Pretzels

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
They were easy to make, but they weren't like the pretzels at the mall. Would make better breadsticks.

Very good recipe! I used red velvet cake to make eyeballs for halloween. I also tinted some yellow cake mix to make green and made ghosts out of them.

These are terrific! I only made the cake and we ate it without frosting and they didn't need it. I did double the cherries and next time i'm going to add 1 cup of chocolate chips.

Mahogany Glazed Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I thought this tasted really good! It gave the salmon a nice mild flavor and went perfectly with the smashed cauliflower from this site. I will be making this again.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
I subbed fresh rosemary for the dried, I think I used too much I only used about 4 teaspoons but it was too much. aside from that it came out great in my bread machine. Update: in my new bread machine It only makes a 1 1/2 pound bread not a 2 pound loaf. Update:If you make 18 servings it uses 1 packet of yeast. Uses 1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary, and it could have used some more.

Creamy Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
It was good but next time I will reduce the wine to maybe half the amount. My family didn't like the wine taste. I also used reduced fat cheese and lite sour cream. Will try again.

Bread Machine Calzone

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
The dough was great. I don't know what I did different but it made 2 huge calzones. I filled mine with ricotta, mozzarella and ham. So good. Next time I will add some seasoning to the ricotta.

Kim's Virtuous Mini Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
Great flavor! Mine came out really dense like they were underbaked even though I cooked them almost 30 min? I did use splenda instead of sugar(the stuff for baking, not the packets)I don't know if that would affect this recipe.

Early-Riser Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
They tasted good but the texture was really heavy, not sure how to fix that, but like I said they were good and I will try again. They also stuck to the paper liner. I also added green onion to half cause I had some on hand and they were really good and looked pretty too.

Pumpkin Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I think it is a good idea, a healthy way to satisfy my pumpkin craving, but the oatmeal was hard as a rock! next time I will up the milk/water to 1 1/2 cup and add the pumpkin in at the begining to cook it a little more. I also added 2 packets of splenda and increased the pumpkin pie spice a couple of shakes.
