Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made my own self rising flour from this site. It was 3 cups flour and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder. I used a bud lite someone left at my house and I threw in a handful of cheddar cheese. I thought mine was a bit sweet and i only added a pinch more sugar, next time i might use a little less. This was nice and dense and moist. Delish!

These were great! I increases lemon juice to 2/3 a cup and the flour to 1/3 a cup as others sugguested. I made mine in a 9x13 pan and I thought it was perfect. There was exactly 1/2 crust and 1/2 lemon.

Hash Brown Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
This was soooo good! I did use tater tot crowns to line my pie plate and cooked those as directed on the package. They were great and I loved the flavor. I also added 2 more eggs for a total of 4 it was the perfect amount for my pie plate but I did have to cook it an aditional 15 minutes. Depending on how salty your ham is you migh not want to add any salt to the eggs. I also added soe green onions for color.

Peppermint Drops

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Thses were great! I used the whole 3 cups of flour but I think next time i'll only use 2 1/2, they were a little stiff but that's my fault. They tasted great and I also made some with the mint truffle kisses and am looking for the dark chocolate kisses to use them next.

Hearty Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
Water would have been fine! I used chicken broth and no salt and it was way to salty, next time i'll use water and no salt. I think the amount would have been good. I thought it looked like too much at the end so i took some out, but when it cooled in the bowl I had to add it back in. Next time I wont try to change things so much. the recipe is good as written.

These were great. My mom said they were just like her mom use to make. I did add a little lemon zest because that's the way my grandma used to make them.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
I lowered the calories to just under 100 calories if you make 24 muffins by using 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce. I also reduced the sugar to 2 cups and did 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugars. Came out great and I don't miss the extra sugar!

Cranberry Pecan Bread

It had good flavor, but I think I should have let it raise longer the second time, or maybe shape it different. My bread did turn purple.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
These were the best! My family devoured them. I wish I would have made a double batch, all 16 were gone before they were cooled. I didn't roll the butter up in them instead I brushed on top before baking. update: using i can't believe it's not butter and no second part of the butter 1 roll =138 calories
