Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2006
I made this as per the directions and the meat was very tender. A different taste, but served it to guests and everyone enjoyed it. Very easy too!

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2006
I hate when people say this but....I prepared this as per the recipe EXCEPT...lol...I used fresh dill rather than dried. I brought some in for my boss to try because he's a soup lover and he said it was the best soup he's ever had! Thanks!

Blueberry Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
I made this recipe as per the original except I used mixed berries and they were wonderful. I found it a tad dry which is why I only gave a 4 rating. I enjoyed the flavour though and I would put lots of butter...yum!!

Avocado, Tomato and Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
I've made this several times and it gets even better the next day. Tastes WONDERFUL on fish too!! My family now requests this regularly and everywhere I take it, I am asked by SOMEONE for the recipe. Absolutely delicious!! I noticed someone made a comment about the oil. Consumption of Olive Oil can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease so please don't be afraid to use it :)

Kielbasa and Cabbage

I made this over the weekend and it tasted great! Next time I'd like to make it a bit more hearty so I will add carrot, potato, and will make it with leek instead of onion...overall great recipe!

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I had to mix and match because I didn't have everything exact. I had red wine vinegar instead of balsamic and I didn't have fresh basil....which is really too bad. I also didn't have fresh parm...just the dry stuff you keep you in the fridge. Nice flavour still despite all the changes.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
This was delicious and so fast and easy to make! I got 4 fresh sausages from the butcher - 2 honey garlic, 2 hot (or whatever your fav is) and used a veggie broth. I always take the meat out of the casing (light slice down the center and rip the case off) chop into approx bite size pieces to brown. I will add more broth next time as the next day when I reheated leftovers I found I wanted more juice for dipping! I ate the soup with fresh french baguette mmmm. I brought some to my parents and they loved it so much they went out and bought the ingredients to make it the next day! I'm here updating to say I add more than 4 sausages, more like 6...my guy loves the meat the most (surprise surprise) Thanks you so much...healthy and amazing!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This reminded me of the banana bread you can only get a the church bazaar or at the market...I baked as per and it was perfect! We had the worst snow storm in 25 years in our region the day before I bough the ingredients to make this. So glad I did as it was a nice treat being we couldn't leave our drive way!

Baked Yam Fries with Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Can't go wrong with sweet potato fries. I poked mine with a fork all over and microwaved it for a minute or so to make it easier to slice (leave skin on). I ended up turning up my oven to get more browning (I like mine crispy)...made it 400 near the end when I noticed they weren't to my liking. I made my own sauce based on what I had and it was really good. Used vanilla yogurt (but any flavour yogurt will do!) in place of the sour cream and whipped dressing instead of mayo. For seasoning I added some chili powder and cumin to my taste. I am updating quantities as I made it again yesterday and it is probably 2/3 whipped dressing to 1/3 yogurt and 1 tsp each for sprices. Again, try it and adjust to your preferences :) Boyfriend asked me to remember that sauce...he loved it.

Butternut Squash Soup with a Kick

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I am amazed no one has said this but...I gave it 4 stars due to the richness. Far too much milk. I would cut the amount of milk added in HALF and even then it would likely be very rich still. Will make again with the adjustment and let you know how it goes.

Fabulous and easy to make. I used seasoned organic croutons for my crust. My guests loved it and even said they will never make any other breakfast casserole except this one....I've agreed to passing on this wonderful recipe as they requested :)

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
As per the pics some peoples' turned out to have a thicker batter ...that's what happened to mine. Since I've never made this I didn't know if this was normal or not. I loved the thickness but there was NO flavour in this mix. I realized this after the first batch and added garlic salt which helped...I found myself hand placing the thick dough to ensure I would still taste the onion underneath. I cut the onion nice and thick which suits this dough. Next time I'll maybe make it a beer batter to add some taste and I find sprinkling with sea salt when they come out of the fryer helps!

Nutty Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
This recipe is fantastic. I read some other reviews and a tip for those who are finding your topping to be too dry....try mixing in the butter using your fingers instead of cutting it in. Try not to over mix but even if you do it would still turn out great! :) Served warm with french vanilla ice cream on top mmmm

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2011
I gave this a 3 because I added my own things to make this a 5! I stayed close to the recipe(using all items) but used brown sugar instead of white (about 3 Tbl. Spns), omitted the salt. I browned the meatballs in a dutch oven and in the same pot I threw in finely diced mushroom, grn pepper, red pepper and fried that with the garlic/onion. Used one can of whole/peeled tom, and about 6 romas from my garden peeled/diced. Then added a can of tomato soup. Added about 1 cup of tomato juice to the mix as well. As per recipe added the tom paste at the end and then cooked the meatballs in sauce. MMMM. Another addition was adding fresh grated parm to the meatball mixture (1/2 cup to 1 cup). Boyfriend devoured it haha.
