About this Cook
I started cooking early on in life, helping out my mom when I could barely see over the counter top. I progressed into starting dinners when she had to work late and eventually was preparing whole meals for the family in no time. I loved the feeling of seeing people enjoy my food and now that I'm on my own, I am on here looking for new and exciting flavours and recipes to try out! One of my favourite movies is Julie & Julia...go figure haha :) Happy Cooking Everyone!
My favorite things to cook
Swedish meatballs are currently my "show stopper". We had a party where a friend hated mushrooms, but ate my swedish meatballs knowing they were made with cream of mushroom soup and he loved them! haha The mango salsa recipe is what made me fall in love with this site :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday night was always a meat and potatoes with gravy type of dinner with salads and of course...a pickle tray :)
My cooking triumphs
As a kid my poor mother would come home to a disastrous kitchen and the smell of BURNTNESS haha. It was always when I attempted to bake cookies. They never once turned out, until I found the Soft Chewy Oatmeal cookie recipe on allrecipes.com. Here I am 30 years old and finally had my cookies turn out!

Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs
I made this yesterday wowie was it ever good! I didn't have "ancho" chile powder so I used regular chile powder in its place. Also didn't have chipotle pepper. I added some garlic powder. The meat was so tender I actually couldn't cut through it...fell right off the bone! Overall this will be my GO TO recipe for ribs! Thanks Chef John!

Cucumber Tomato Salad
Love this! Fast, easy, fresh, and light. I cut the water by a lot. I just ran the tap into my bowl for a second, tasted it and added a tad more water. That was it. I used a spanish onion and sliced it length wise very thin then pulled the pieces apart. I made this for my parents, although I hadn't marinated it very long so the flavour wasn't quite what it should have been but they still loved it.

Deviled Eggs I
Excellent. I used Miracle Whip since that's all I usually have on hand and these are just like my mom used to make them. I did add a bit of extra miracle whip and used prepared mustard. I only sprinkled paprika over top with some parsley flakes, didn't add to the yolk mixture.
