Mema's Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
This hearty soup has so much flavor! My husband couldn't get enough. A think slice of warm crusty bread to go with it, and I don't think I'll even notice the next 6 months of Seattle rain. Thank you Mema!

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
Whenever I find a recipe that my kids, my husband, and I all like I do a happy dance. This jambalaya was easy and delicious. I did halve the Cajun seasoning and cayenne for the kiddos sake, and that turned out to be a good decision for my family's preferences. Also, I used fresh uncooked shrimp and threw it in the last 15 minutes because I was slow cooking on the high setting. Thank you for this family favorite.

Curry Kale and Potato Galette

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I just made this today for lunch. It was easy to make and turned out really well. I didn't bother to melt the butter, I just dotted the top with about 2 Tbs of butter and I didn't add the cheese. I served mine with a spoonful of plain yogurt, which I really liked. My 7 year old daughter ate hers with ranch dressing...kids are so weird...and loved it. I like what the other reviewers said about maybe adding chickpeas for protein next time. It has only been an hour and a half since lunch and I'm hungry again...could just be me though...maybe the cheese would have kept me satisfied longer. Thanks for the great recipe!

Sarah's Tofu Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
This was excellent and a complete lifesaver tonight with my mostly empty fridge and a half hour to get dinner on. I almost didn't put the raisins in, but they ended up being my favorite part! Thank You for submitting this!

Mediterranean Chicken and Orzo Salad In Red Pepper Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
Fantastic! I made this just as written for the most part. I didn't have onion powder so I just added a small handful of fresh diced onion and I topped it with fresh Basil leaves. Oh, and I used kalamata olives instead of black. I loved the presentation and taste of the bell pepper cups. My whole family raved. :) Thank you for this awesome recipe!

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
Excellent recipe! I omitted the hot sauce for my kiddos, added 1/4 tsp dry mustard, a small diced zucchini and 1/2 cup cheese per other reviewer's suggestions. It would have been just as great without the changes though. What a great way to sneak quinoa into my kids.

Tomato Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
Amazing soup! I used 3 cups chicken broth, added some fresh spinach I had on hand, a dash of basil and a bay leaf. I pureed a quarter of the soup before adding in about 3 cups cooked pearl barley I had left over from the night before. I appreciate that I could mess with the recipe and it still turned out delicious!
