Absolutely a five-star caramel. I've been making these for years and they turn out perfect every time. Sometimes I add pecans as well. Best caramel recipe ever! :) Thanks KGora!

Best - - - pancakes - - - ever. These are now a family favorite and the only pancakes my kids will eat. I now add vanilla, and sometimes cinnamon or nutmeg, or both. Very versatile and so fluffy and wonderful! Thank you kris!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2012
Best ------ Pie ------ Ever!!!!!!! I've tried this one quite a few times and now I double the recipe and use cream of coconut, adding enough half and half or milk (or combination of the two) to fill in the rest of the amount of liquid needed. I also use frozen coconut for the filling instead of the toasted sweetened coconut, and this is the tastiest thing ever. Love it!

Amazingly simple yet full of flavor - only thing I added was a bit of chopped tomato and avocado because I love it, but otherwise no changes.

Rhubarb Pudding Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2012
Love this recipe - Made it exactly as stated but would change a couple of minor things next time: 1) I would increase rhubarb as others suggested and 2) I would decrease the sugar a bit. I'll have to play with the amounts in the batter and the topping and see what happens. I think between those two changes this will become an absolute fave in our family. The flavors of cinnamon and rhubarb are great together and I love the thin crunchy top layer and the ooey-gooey bottom - super d-lish! Thanks Mindy!

Clone of a Lofthouse

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
So very close to the real thing I do believe I would be hard pressed to tell them apart in a blind taste test! The cookies are light and airy just like the ones in the store - not overly sweet; its the frosting on the store bought ones that make the cookie because it compliments the less-sweet cookie so well. Same instance here - followed the recipe exactly and only had to use the 5 cups of flour with additional for rolling/dusting. For the frosting I did end up using a bit more sweetened condensed milk and I think next time I will just go with either whole milk or heavy cream. I think the sweetened condensed milk was just a bit too thick and it gave the frosting a yellow-ish color. Definitely a 5 star recipe and will be making these over and over again.

All I can say is YUM! This is my new go-to chocolate frosting! I must admit - I ate it with a spoon. Not all of it. Darn close, but not all of it.

Simple Coffee Drink

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
When I first read this recipe I was thinking that no way could the ratios be correct, but I was proven wrong fast enough. This is a five star recipe on its own because it taste better than the store-bought versions, but the real bonus is you can customize it to your liking so easily. Definitely a keeper. Thanks marko1995 - simple but fantastic!

Fiber One® Chocolate-Peanut Butter Haystacks

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
These are easy-peasy to throw together and the kids liked them, so that's a bonus. I like the idea of sneaking something healthy into their treats. For me, they were good, just lacked "something." I will try these again, but maybe tweak it a bit by adding some craisins, maybe using white chocolate, and maybe some coconut. Otherwise pretty decent.

KFC Coleslaw - Knock Off

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
Phenomenal :) Made this exactly as stated the first round, tried it and loved it. Next time around, I added a half teaspoon of celery seed just because I love that flavor. Leave this sit overnight and the flavor only gets better - completely wonderful - very close to KFC. Great job Baking Nana! Thank you!

Almond Gelatin

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
This is different from anything I've ever tried before so it took a bit of "getting used to." That being said, this is a wonderful, quick, light dessert and would be perfect on a hot summer day. I didn't have any fruit cocktail to serve with it as the recipe stated, but I did substitute a bit of thinned out raspberry jam, which was wonderful with the prominent almond flavor. All in all, great little dessert and very please with the results.

Five Star Venison Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
Not bad - it needs a little "zing" to brighten it up a bit though. I'll make this again because its super easy and flavorful (minus peas and Brussels sprouts), but perhaps add a bit of cayenne or some jalapenos just to get a little kick and wake to up a bit.

Six-Layer Coconut Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
This is a very lovely cake. The only thing I changed was that I added a package of frozen coconut to the cake batter because I wanted that super prominent coconut flavor - otherwise everything was the same. That being said - I think it would be just as wonderful without the coconut as well. The texture is great and the moisture level is perfect. I can't wait to make this again.

Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
For someone that doesn't usually like this type of dish, this was pretty good! The seasoning was just right to compliment the squash and sweet potato flavors and gave it that nice, Fall-ish feel. It won't be a regular at our house, but cold Fall days and Thanksgiving are definitely possibilities.
