My Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
so this recipe is delicious. this is almost exactly how I make my homemade chili so I decide to use this recipe and give it a slight makeover. Instead of using ground beef and kidney beans, I used Johnsonville Mild Italian sausage and chili beans and man oh man is it amazing! I think the sausage gave it an extra bit of kick because it has so many other flavors to offer!

Polish Kielbasa and Pierogies

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
We love Johnsonville, but for me that was the best part of this dish. The pierogi bag called for three methods of cooking and I chose boiling. I drained, let sit like the recipe said and then dumped it into my onion and sausage mixture and stirred up and sprinkled with parsley. Again, the sausage was AMAZING. I love it and will cook it just to eat or for other dishes, but I don’t think we’ll be having this dish again.

Johnsonville Sausage Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2014
These were interesting. I cooked them for quite some time, longer than the recipe called for because they weren't done in the time it said. I was waiting on them to brown some. They were still slightly doughy. I was also expecting them to remind of something you'd have for breakfast. Just my misconception. They were somewhat tasty though!

Slow Cooker White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2014
This recipe to me was mediocre. I cooked it exactly according to the instructions but it came out bland. I ended up adding several different things in the end to give it more flavor. I also can't stand behind it being called Chili. To me, chili is much thicker and filling. This was more like a chicken stew or soup.

Easy Chicken Veracruz

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2014
It was a bit tangy for my taste. With that said, this was a good recipe. It really was. The only thing I didn't care for was the tanginess and I'm fairly certain that was the sauce itself which has nothing to do with the rest of the ingredients. My boyfriend didn't care for it though so I ate his and mine! lol

Stuffed Alfredo Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2014
I love anything with Alfredo sauce! I love the twist on your average baked potato. It was like combining spinach dip and a baked potato. YUMMY!

Elbows Mac and Cheese with Tuscan Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2014
This was really tasty! Everyone loved it! Everyone went back for seconds. We loved all the flavors of the Tuscan Herb Sauce and the Fontina cheese on top was AMAZING! I didn't care for the grated cheese though because of the feel but it was tasty. I'm thinking next time I'll mix fontina cheese in the entire dish inside and top because it was so tasty!

Mezzi Rigatoni with Chicken Thighs, Rosemary, Lemon Zest and Roasted Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
The sauce itself was bland. The lemon was the only flavor we caught.

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
These were ok. They were tasty and maybe I screwed up cooking them but I followed the directions. They look good but my hash brown cups seemed smaller than should be. They were indeed tasty though. Great and quick way to get all of your breakfast foods in one spot on the go!

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
First of all, I HATE corn tortillas. The pork in my opinion didn't have flavor until you swallowed, then it tasted like eating fire. I have also discovered that I do not like tomatillos. They were very prominent and took over the flavor of the sauce.

Sweet and Spicy Salmon with Grapefruit Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
I gave this recipe 4 stars instead of 5 because of the grapefruit. We all loved the salmon. It had great flavor and tasted less "fishy" so for anyone who doesn't care for fish but wants healthy, this is good. We don't really care for grapefruit to begin with but eating it with the salmon gave it a bitter taste, probably because grapefruit is bitter. Go figure. I think maybe it would have been better with something like pineapple or mango. The salsa was good on the salmon without the grapefruit though so adding in something other than grapefruit could have improved the flavor more.

Original Irish Cream

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
This recipe was ok but I'd make some changes or just buy Irish Cream from the liquor store pre-made. I have granules spotting the drink which makes it look creepy. It also has a very strong coffee and almond flavor which over-powers the Irish whiskey flavor which is the BASIC flavor. I would reduce the amount of coffee and almond used.

Johnsonville® Italian Sausage and Pepper Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
This was interested. My boyfriend prepared this for dinner tonight and I don't know if there was too much oil or if the juices were supposed to be drained from the tomatoes, but it was really more like a soup.

Italian Sausage Market Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2013
First of all, this fell apart when I took it out the pan. It was ok. Not something we'll eat on a regular basis though. The spinach made it hard to cut through and no one liked that part or the peppers and corn. My boyfriend described it as a Mexican Casserole....

Turkey Bacon Breakfast Burrito

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
The dish itself is interesting. You couldn't really taste the bacon. In my opinion the bacon had no real flavor anyway and it was relatively....chewy.

Classic Smoked Sausage Mac and Cheese

The sausage is amazing, however, we did not like the mac and cheese. It tasted like the kind we used to get in school!

Hawaiian Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2013
We love turkey but we've never had turkey burgers before! I personally loved these following the complete recipe. The only thing my boyfriend didn't like was the sauce but that's because he HATES mayonnaise. I couldn't slip it past him either! He could taste it! lol. Other than that, these were a big hit in my family.

Mexican Bison Bake with Cilantro-Lime Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2013
this was really good, really simple and delicious. I put the cream off to the side just in case I didn't like it. It was surprisingly really good. Only thing I might have changed was the amount of beans. I would have only used a half of a can but I'm also not a bean person. Other than it was delicious!
