Whole Wheat High Fiber Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
After following other reviewers suggestions and adding ww flour this turned out to be a great bread! I used blackstrap molasses in place of the sugar. You can't beat the hearty flavor of this bread. This is the perfect bread to go with veggie soups and creamy chowders!

Really good cookies! Simple to make and these go great with a glass of ice cold milk or a mug of cinnamon cappuccino.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
Deep chocolate flavor! WAY WAY WAY better tasting than the recipes that call for chocolate pudding. No nasty artificial flavors . We like these almost as much as homemade brownies and that's saying a lot! :)

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
These are really good! I made these because I am trying to get my family to eat more grains. I used raw oatmeal because I don't use instant. The oats add a nice texture and a nutty flavor.I have used the same peanut butter cookie recipe my mom has used for 60+ years. I think I just found one to replce it. Sorry mom!! :D

Venison Gyros

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I just keep eating this and I am more of a fish or chicken person!! I thinly sliced a backstrap and marinated the meat for about 6 hours.I cook a lot of venison and this recipe is going to be made year round. I can't wait to be able to throw some on the grill. YUM I served the meat on Artisan flat bread with sour cream and raw onions as a garnish. But the meat is sooooo good all by itself that garnish is not necessary.

Overnight Caramel Pecan Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This is a good recipe for those mornings you don't have to rush off to work or get your kids off to school. I love making these for lazy mornings with hubby and the kids wake up just from the smell of the rolls cooking.

Cottage Dill Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
When I was growing up my mom made a bread like this really often. She would use chopped chives in the spring and fresh dill weed in the summer. This recipe brings back lots of childhood memories and it will be a nice addition to meals for my family.

Oat Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Good recipe. Tweaked it a bit and added a dash of nutmeg and some cinnamon and they have the taste of a fresh oatmeal cookie for breakfast. I made oat flour but used regular oatmeal instead of quick oats and the batter was fine and texture of waffle was tender on inside and crispy on the outside. I will be making these again to freeze for a quick breakfast from the toaster.

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
This is a definite keeper for pancake lovers. My 10 year old daughter made these as her first ever pancake making experience and even having a 1st timer make this recipe, the pancakes turned out great! Tender and fluffy. These are so good with the amount of vanilla and strawberries already in them that you can skip syrup!

Jagic (Assyrian Cheese Spread)

Oh YUM!! This is going to be made over and over at my house. I used dill that I had in the freezer because I couldn't wait until June (when I can get fresh dill)to try this recipe. All the flavors are sooooo good together!

Smoky Chipotle Hummus

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
I can't seem to keep this around long. Everyone loves this recipe. My daughter takes this with rice crackers in her backpack to share at school and hubby gets requests at work for me to keep sending it for the guys to munch on. Even some non-hummus eaters like this one.

Dill Pickle Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
I have made this bread several times and I have also used the dough to make hot pocket type sandwiches with sloppy joe filling and bbq pork w/onions. Yummy bread. I did use pickle juice in place of part of the water and fresh dill weed tastes better than the dried but it is not always available. Oh, and I don't use a bread machine and still find it's well worth the time to make often! :)

Roast Beef Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I only switched this up because my hubby does not like roast beef. (weirdo!!)I used thinly sliced smoked venison to make this. I have some pastrami that I am going to use to make it again for company this week-end. Very yummy and a nice change for stuffed shells! Another good one from this cook.

I just got done pouring the frosting on it and had to taste it warm. WOW!! It is awesome! I can't imagine how good it will taste if it gets better the longer it sits. Not sure it will last that long to ever find out!! Yummy

Excellent Venison Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This is really tasty! I didn't have ground venison thawed out so I used cubed venison round steak. I had a part of a bag of peas so I tossed those in . This is one of those delicious recipes that you will want to make often. Great comfort food! No leftovers here because we ate it too fast.

Cheddar Chicken Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
My 10 year old daughter made this one and she really liked it. I would add more liquids because it was a bit lacking. Maybe a can of cream of chicken and an added a can of cream of cheddar would help.

Secret Ingredient Pico de Gallo

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
We loved this! I did add a little bit extra cilantro but ONLY because I wanted to finish using what I had left in the fridge. I am making another batch soon to take to a pickle loving neighbor. He puts pickles in almost everything but I think this will surprise and thrill him!

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This is a keeper! I use the batter for broccoli, mushrooms, cheese curds,etc.. Anytime I make this, I make at least a double batch of batter because after frying extras I just pop leftovers in the freezer and have 'em handy for whenever! I just put the frozen rings or veggies on a cookie sheet in the oven @ 375 and reheat until they are heated through and crispy! I have even reheated these on foil in the grill when it was too hot to crank up the oven. YUMMY!!
