I'm 36, married, and an at-home parent to a toddler and an infant. I like to knit socks, read Tolkien, and ponder religion. I'm interested in family history, connecting with nature, home schooling, learning languages, and reading fantasy & sci-fi novels.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake bread, cookies, and pies for meals (like Shepherd's, mushroom, quiche, etc.) as well as plan healthy meals for my kids. I make mostly vegetarian meals with organic, local ingredients and I support our local farmers market. I particularly enjoy making special meals for holidays.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is a mix of Polish and Italian, though I really haven't taken advantage of either food tradition. Since I'm mostly self-taught as a cook, I tend to look for simple, healthy meals that meets the nutritional needs of my family. I would like to explore Polish food more but I haven't found a good resource for me yet.
My cooking triumphs
The first perfect loaf of bread remains one of my favorite memories.
