About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I'm a girl on the go with a well-developed palate, so I really love recipes with little prep time and lots of flavor. It's not a coincidence that cakes and cookies are my favorite things to make, as they also happen to be my favorite things to eat! I love the challenge of baking cakes from scratch and I'm always on the lookout for great cookie recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a fabulous baker; she has always made cakes from scratch for family members' birthdays. Her cakes are so moist that they lean, so it is a family joke that a cake isn't good unless it leans!
My cooking triumphs
Six-layer cake from scratch, cooked and frosted to pefection.
My cooking tragedies
I'm told I made a Souflé roughly the height of a crêpe at the age of 9. My dear mother ate every bite.

Sangria! Sangria!
So easy. So delicious. I do recommend waiting to add citrus fruit until 3-4 hours before serving. If you leave the fruit in overnight, the Sangria can take on an acidic taste from the fruit.

Turkey and Yam Spicy Tacos
These were great! Next time I think I will buy some bibb or butter lettuce and use the filling to make lettuce wraps. Very tasty!

Double Tomato Bruschetta
This was very tasty. The tomato mixture is a little watery, so I suggest using a fork or slotted spoon to scoop the mixture. This will prevent the bread from getting soggy.
