Bacon, Tomato, and Avocado Flatbread

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2015
Easy to make 5 star recipe whether you use it as a meal or an appetizer. I used all buffalo ranch, a mixture of Sriracha and Ranch dressing. Use a pizza cutter to make slices.

The perfect way to eat comfort food with a serving of veggies. The jalapenos are the perfect complement to this sandwich.

Spam Pizza Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2015
I agree with the other reviewers - sodium content is high. I even used the lowest sodium Spam I could find along with a low sodium chili.

Easy Wakame Brown Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2015
This worked great as a side dish with the nutty flavors of the brown rice and toasted sesame seeds. If you feel that this rice dish is bland just squeeze some lime juice in it or add some Sriracha.

Wholewheat Tuna Treat

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2015
Wow! I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor of this. My first thought was maybe it needed some kind of dressing but the avocado came through with the perfect amount of creaminess. When the bulgar wheat was finished cooking it looked like a bit too much so I added just enough for a good balance with the tuna. Served on a bed of baby spinach for a perfect summertime treat.

Egg in a Pepper

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2015
The bell pepper serves as a edible egg ring in this colorful breakfast. This breakfast is easily adaptable no matter how you like your eggs.

Slow-Cooker Posole

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2015
This was easy to make and was done in 6 hours which resulted in melt in your mouth pork. Although the sauce was not specified so I used a verde sauce. I also used chicken broth in place of the water. I'll add a little more cayenne next time.

Farm-to-Table Pico de Gallo

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2015
This is a good change from the normal pico de gallo. I like the sweetness the carrot adds.

Grilled Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2015
Absolutely perfect for summertime grilling. This easy to make 5 star recipe was a hit here during a BBQ without heating up the kitchen. The only change I would make is to double up on the bacon.

Sriracha Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2015
Great googly moogly these are good! I used Sriracha's Chili Garlic Sauce, made by the same company, in place of the milder Sriracha. I even used 1/2 cup of the sauce. This recipe is an absolute keeper. These would work in various salads, sandwiches or even used for deviled eggs. Thank you LilSnoo.

Lemon Pepper Rubbed Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2015
The best lemon pepper ribs I've tasted! These ribs are perfect for those that are looking for a rib recipe that doesn't have sauce slathered all over them. I used soaked apple wood chips for the smoking.

Microwave Roux

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2015
While this may be goof proof make sure you use a bowl specifically for microwave use. I found the oil to flour ratio in this recipe to be of a thin consistency. The flour to oil should be at least equal proportions. The initial 6 minutes on 70% power (1000 watt microwave) resulted in a blond roux.

Watermelon Salsa

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2015
Just grab the nearest spoon and eat this right out of the bowl. Yes this is that good. I threw caution to the wind and added the whole habanero and I'm so glad I did. This has the perfect balance of flavors. For those that aren't accustomed to the heat use jalapenos or green chiles in place of the habanero. This is perfect on grilled cod.

Simple Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2015
On your craziest weekdays, this slow cooker cola infused pulled pork can be an easy, comforting meal! I like the fact that this is not loaded with BBQ sauce. Depending on the brand of liquid smoke you may want to cut back on the amount. I took the advice of the submitter and used a slow cooker liner for easy clean up.

Sweet Heat: Mark I

Reviewed: May 21, 2015
This sauce is fiery hot, versatile, and oddly addictive. A bowl of this needs to be next to your grill to use a a dip or spread on anything coming off the BBQ. I used habaneros in place of the Scotch bonnets.

Two Minute Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: May 20, 2015
Knowing that the caramel can be sticky I used nonstick spray on the bowl and lightly sprayed parchment paper on the baking sheet and additionally sprayed the spatula. To speed up the cooling process I placed the brittle in the refrigerator and in a short time the brittle broke into pieces easily. The caramel flavors are there but this brittle can be tough on the teeth.

Wine Hummus

Reviewed: May 14, 2015
If you're looking for an alternative to the traditional garbanzo bean hummus look no further. I could eat this with a spoon. The wine is the perfect complement for this hummus. The only problem I had with this was that it resulted in somewhat of a thinner consistency that I'm use to, nevertheless it did not detract from the flavor. Next time I will reserve the bean liquids and add a little at a time to arrive at the right consistency. The only change I made was toasting the sesame seeds for an additional depth of flavor. Thank you sueb for this keeper.

The Fires of Hades - Hellish Relish

Reviewed: May 12, 2015
This is a sure 'fire' fix for anything bland. As a lover of spicy heat I left the seeds and membranes in the habanero peppers for that extra punch. For those that don't care for the heat just mix up a batch and toss it on a couple of logs in your fireplace, no matches required.
