My husband and I are native New Yorker's, graduate school for him and work for me while I earned my
"PHT" Degree...."Putting Hubby Through" in Northern California. They actually gave all wives certificates! A job took us to Southern California upon his receiving his JD Degree I opened a travel agency there. We escaped there to The Land of Enchantment, when he retired in April of 2006.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Mexican, we love it & crave it. I enjoy making stir fried dishes. In the cooler months, when the oven will not overheat the house I enjoy baking bread. The BBQ is my territory, everything from steaks, burgers, roasted corn on the cob. Briskets or pork roasts to shred and add to burritos or tacos.
My favorite family cooking traditions
None really, I taught myself to cook through trial & error.
My cooking triumphs
Planning a retirement party for one of my husbands colleagues, I had 40 people to cook for. So I cooked a huge crock pot of my killer Pork Chile Verde. Served it with refried beans, warm flour tortillas, lots of guacamole, fresh salsa and chips My husband manned the blender mixing up gallons of Margaritas. Dessert was Chocolate Kahlua Cake with vanilla ice cream.
My cooking tragedies
I love Tofu whenever I can get it at an Asian restaurant, or anywhere else for that matter.
The very first time I tried cooking with Tofu.
It was more like TOE-FOO! Actually tasted that way too.
