About this Cook
Hey, this account was created by two friends who were in university and on a fixed budget, but didn't want to eat like poor university students. So we made our hobby teaching ourselves and each other how to cook. Over the years we have learned a lot about cooking technique and nutrition and continue to love learning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook French food. I love the simplicity of the ingredients and the importance of the proper technique. Even though the ingredients may stay the same the more you work on cooking something properly the better the taste will grow. -Morgan
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a traditional Irish/Newfoundland family, where cooking was simple and everyone left the table full. We didn't do a lot of desserts, but we cooked hardy meals. Also beings a fishing family, we ate a lot of sea food. -Morgan
My cooking triumphs
I think the biggest triumph for Amanda and I was perfecting the perfect "dry-wet-dry" saucy fried wings. They are a detailed labor, but all our friends will agree, well worth the effort.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a Gordon Ramsay beef wellington recipe one time. I didn't sweat the mushrooms enough and the pastry became steamed. The end result was $40 of nearly uneatable beef fillet! lol -Morgan

Singapore Noodles
Hey, I have a few suggestions for anyone trying this out: With the red pepper flakes, don't use a heaping teaspoon, it will be too much. It will over take the flavor. You can use any meat you would like... Just make sure you cut it thin, if you use fish or shrimp use due care. A Soy ginger salad dressing can take the place of those two ingredients. I have made this recipe several time using Spaghetti Squash, it is a fantastic alternative to the egg noodles, I actually prefer it. I hope these suggestions help... I would also recommend using crunchy peanut butter! Enjoy!

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup
Awesome soup! I only put in 1.5 cups of rice - that was more than enough. Also, added a cup of white wine..! Would make again!
