Garlic Lover's Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
I made this recipe exactly as written, EXCEPT for three additional spices added: Italian, oregano, and basil. This made a nice, full 13x9 inch pan dinner, and my son and husband loved it. My husband ate two big pieces of chicken and has dished up the leftovers for work tomorrow, but he couldn't stop picking at the leftovers as he was dishing it up. He deemed this as possibly his new favorite meal, so thank you very much for posting this recipe. I will be adding this to our monthly menu for sure. I didn't think any of the flavors were too overpowering, but we are all big cheese and garlic lovers, so I can see where someone who wasn't so keen on the Parmesan and garlic flavors would probably want to cut back.

Blood Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2013
I have never seen blood oranges before. I called my local supermarket and had them special order them for me just to make this recipe :-) I thought it produced a very juicy tasting chicken. I was surprised that it did not have an overwhelming orange taste to it. The sauce is yummy, and I didn't have any white wine, but I did have red wine, so I used that in the sauce and it still tasted great. That is the only thing I did differently about this recipe, otherwise, I followed it exactly. I wouldn't change anything. Great dish!

No Bakes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
These are my husband's favorite cookies, and they are so easy to make. I just cut it down to one cup of sugar because I didn't want these to turn out too sweet, but other than that, excellent cookies.

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
I used to have these when I would visit my great aunt in her retirement home. They called them "Popeyes" there. I have not had them since then, and I came across this recipe yesterday and was reminded of how much I used to like them. This is such a quick and easy breakfast that you can really make for a casual or fancy occasion, depending on what you dress the plate up with. I just made them this morning before my husband left for work and used heart-shaped cookie cutters to make heart shaped holes in the middle for Valentine's Day :)

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
I loved this recipe. It's a little different than the meatloaf recipe I usually use, so I liked changing things up a little. I followed the recipe exactly as written and it makes a very sweet tasting meatloaf. I wasn't sure about the ginger at first, but you won't even know it's there once the meatloaf is cooked. I read in the reviews that some people thought the brown sugar and ketchup mixture should be placed on top of the loaf, and not under it. I will say that yes, the mixture is pretty runny when the meatloaf first comes out of the oven, but if you remove the loaf and put it on a serving platter and let the sauce sit for a while, it thickens and makes a very nice sauce to pour over the top of the meatloaf slices.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2013
This is the same recipe I've used for chocolate chip cookies my whole life. Never, ever fails. The secret to getting them perfect is to add the exact measurement of each ingredient and do not cook past 10 minutes if you want a gooey cookie.

Amish White Bread

This is one of the simplest bread recipes I have ever used, but produces a great, sweet-tasting bread.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
My family loved this lasagna. As the recipe states, yes, it does take some extra time and preparation, but this tastes wonderful. If you don't have time during the week to make this, I think it would make a great weekend meal. I especially liked the homemade meat sauce. This came out cheesy and delicious and is now a family favorite. My three-year-old cleaned his plate (literally, licked the plate) and wants me to make it again. Also, I liked that this meal provided leftovers for lunch for a few days.

Walnut Cinnamon Rolls

Excellent. These are so easy to make, and well worth the time put into it. I made my own homemade bread dough to go with it, which added to the deliciousness of it all. I will be using this again and again.

I want to add an update: When you make this pizza, and if you have leftovers, it tastes even better after letting it sit in the fridge overnight!! YUM.

Pizza Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
I love this recipe. My 1.5 year old son does, too. I've made it twice now, and he has gobbled it down every single time. I use penne noodles and only add sausage, pepperoni, cheese, and sauce, because my husband doesn't like veggies in his pizza. This is a quick and easy recipe, great for nights when you need a quick meal! Thank you for sharing!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
WOW! These are AWESOME! They taste just like Applebees! The only thing I did different was use boneless chicken breasts cut into strips. My fiance loves boneless wings, so I bought a six pack of boneless, skinless breasts and used those instead. They still turned out just fine. I fried the chilled strips on the stove top in light olive oil instead of deep frying them and sprayed Pam on them while they were cooking. They turned out crispy and delicious! Thank you for this recipe! LOVE IT!

Banana Split Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
This is such a simple, easy recipe that you can make with ingredients you probably already have. The only thing I would suggest is cutting back on the chocolate chips. I would do 3/4 cup at most. Still, a VERY delicious bread!

Cracked Wheat Bread II

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
SO good! This is a light, simple recipe. I, too, was afraid that this was going to be a dense bread, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I did have to let the bread rise for quite a while the second time, probably close to another hour instead of a half hour, and the loaves still turned out a little on the small side. I will just have to let them rise longer next time to achieve the desired height. I have no complaints about the taste of the bread, though. This recipe makes great toast in the morning.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2012
These are really good. I made them on Christmas morning for my family and they were all in heaven. The cream cheese frosting is the best part. I made the bread dough by hand, though, as I do not have a bread machine and it still turned out fine.

LC'S Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Yum! These are a great, healthy way to sneak vegetables into your kids. My three-year-old had no problem polishing off his helping! The spices add to the sweet flavor with a bit of kick. The only thing I would recommend is baking the fries at 425 for 40 minutes on a cookie sheet instead of pan frying them. I tried pan frying a handful of them and then baked the rest in the oven, but the pan fried ones didn't turn out nearly as good as the baked ones. It is true that sweet potato fries don't get as crispy as regular potatoes, so don't expect these to be crunchy; just expect them to be delicious!

YEAH! This was the chocolate cake I had been striving for! Add just a little bit more cocoa powder if you're an extreme chocolate lover and you'll be satisfied. The coffee really adds that something extra I had been wanting in a chocolate cake.

Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
Oh good Lord. YUM. That's about all I can say. I had cream cheese stuffed french toast once in my life at IHOP, and this recipe is right on par with it. This is so simple to prepare and cook, and it looks very elegant when it's all put together. Like a lot of people said, this french toast is very filling and one little triangle of this will probably do the trick to fill you up, especially if you serve it with coffee, juice, or fresh berries on the side. I thought I would add this note: To cut a few calories, you can also just spread light cream cheese or Neufchatel cheese between the slices of bread instead of mixing in the sugar/vanilla mixture, and instead of putting butter in the pan to brown the toast, use a no calorie PAM spray and leave out topping your toast with whipped cream. Absolutely wonderful recipe. I will be making this again!
