Savory Bubble Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
This bread made such a good impression on my family. Like most other reviews I found the dough to be incredibly sticky once it came out of the bread maker. I kneaded it with a little more flour to make it a bit easier to handle. I used my own Italian herbs, minced garlic and Parmesan cheese for the topping, I added this to the melted butter, which meant I only had to dip the dough once. Next time I think I am going to try using olive oil rather than butter, which I think is more traditional with the toppings I used. The bread was very easy to make, looked great and tasted amazing!

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2011
Even though this may seem a little time consuming for a week day night, believe me its delicous. I followed the recipe exactly, made an extra lasagna for the freezer also. Even leftover heated up in the microwave still taste good. I will certainly be making this again.

Peppermint Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
Part of my cooking up a storm for Christmas... I made a huge batch of these cookies for christmas. Made the dough and shaped in to balls on a cookie sheet, once frozen I transported to a ziplock for storage. Of course I cooked off just a few, to make sure they were good, they were more than good. Simply delicious. I followed the recipe exactly other than using butter in place of the Shortening (do not like shortening at all). To cook from frozen, simply place the frozen dough ball in the oven at 300 degrees for approx 25-30 minutes. I always bake cookies from frozen the results always look like a more professional cookie. This really is the perfect christmas recipe. Just the right about of mint crunch!

Baked Tomatoes Oregano

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
These really don't taste anything like pizza but they are pretty good just the same. I used packaged bread crumbs but followed the rest of the recipe exactly.

The most delicious pasta ~ i know I will be making this again and again. I did not have any rosemary either fresh or dried so I used Italian herbs. Followed the rest of recipe exactly. Turned out perfect, I served this with the Slow cooker Chicken Stroganoff off this site.

Chocolate Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
Made these today for a coffee morning with friends. Oh they are just so delicious. Used a combination of white chocolate and milk chocolate chips and then finished with both milk and white chocolate. I do cook my biscotti always on wax paper, allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting (never have a problem with crumbling biscotti), then through the wax paper away and cook on each side for a further 10 minutes. Will certainly be making these again.

Rosemary Lemon Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
The first time I made this recipe I rated it a 2* I followed the recipe exactly as written. Firstly I think it needs to say to use melted butter, not just regular butter. I just ended up with rosemary butter knobs. I think if anything this should be tried with olive oil. UPDATE... Decided to try this recipe again using 1/4 cup of olive oil in place of the butter, and it was so much better. This time he marinade when on the chicken well, and I just loved the final taste. You really do need to use oil and not the butter like the recipe states.

Brie’s Calming Lavender and Vanilla Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
These dog biscuits require the use of Wheat flour which some dogs are sensitive to, if so its so easy to modify this recipe, simply substitute one cup of wheat flour for 1-1/4 cup of rye or oat flour or ¾ cup, rice, barley or potato flour.

Tossed Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: May 23, 2012
Great simple and easy salad. Perfect to throw together in a few minutes. I followed the recipe exactly but did find the dressing to be far to thick so I added a little milk to thin it down. Pretty sure I will be using this recipe again.

Chicken and Chorizo Paella

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
So easy and very versatile, I do sometimes change the ingredients to match what's in my pantry. I often use green beans or mushrooms. Tried with various types of diced tomatoes but my favorite is the fire roasted.

Lemon Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2011
Another wonderful cake that starts life in a box... I did change this recipe a little as I only had Vanilla Instant pudding mix, and was worried by using this I would not have much of a lemon flavor. I added 1 tablespoon of lemon zest and also a teaspoon of lemon extract. As always I used applesauce in place of the oil. Baked for 60 minutes and the cake was cooked to perfection. I just loved the moist lemon taste, great recipe that you can throw together in a few minutes. No once would honestly think this came out of a box!!!

Whiskey Cake II

Reviewed: May 8, 2012
I did make just a few changes to meet my pantry contents. I used a butter cake mix in place of the yellow box mix and just 1/2 pack of butterscotch chips (thats all I had). This cake is so delicious I just adore the combination of the whiskey flavor and the butterscotch chips. I baked for 65 minutes and the cake is both slightly crisp on the crust but so moist inside. I will certainly be baking this again!

Very easy cake to make, I did not make the frosting as its for my son to take to work tomorrow. I did only get to taste a very small slice, but I thought it was a great tasting moist cake. I think you could use use this recipe as a base for a great tasting black cherry Gateau.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2012
These were so quick and simple to make. I used the mini size biscuits as that was what I had in the fridge. I bake these full size in a regular muffin pan for 18 minutes. I used pepper jack cheese as I had no swiss and served straight from the oven. The base was nice and crisp, the topping was so good too. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Key Lime Cake II

Oh goodness this is so delcious. It was so moist and light with the most wonderful lime flavor. Who would have thought this came from a couple of boxes... I used vanilla fat free pudding mix as that was all I had to hand. I know I will be making this again soon. Thank you so much for sharing.
