Basil Vinaigrette

I really wish I had read the reviews before I made this. It had way too much oil and so I ended up just using it as a marinade for some boneless skinless chicken breasts. Good flavor...will probably try again with less oil.

President Ford's Braised Eye Round Steak

This was a big disappointment after reading all the good reviews. I followed the recipe exactly and the end product had minimal flavor and was dried out. The only thing good was that it was tender!

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This is the best pot roast recipe! I am not a really big fan of roast, but every now & then I get a craving for comfort food like mom used to make. I rarely ever would make a roast because I just couldn't seem to find a recipe that really impressed me until I tried this one. This is now my go to recipe & my husband and I love it! I've made it quite a few times, playing around with it a bit. It's good as is, but I've also browned the meat it in oil & added 1/2 c. red wine along with the 1/2 c. water to the 3 mixes and this is by far my favorite way to make it. Even though it's just two of us, I usually get a 2-3 pound roast. I shred any leftovers and use it for sandwiches later in the week. Yummy!

Nickie's Apple-Pecan Cheesecake

This was delicious! Had a great fluffy texture and a rich, not too sweet taste. Made it for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! The only change I made was to use vanilla wafers instead of graham crackers for the crust because I do not like graham crackers. I will definitely be making this again & again!

Herb Turkey Rub

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Wow, finally a recipe that actually deserves the high rating! Made this for a grand opening at my husband's new business & although I absolutely hate tomatoes, no one was around to sample it before it was served, so I tried it myself and I couldn't stop eating it! Did everything exactly as stated in the recipe and it came out great. Made this again on other ocassions and served it cold without the cheese & still fabulous! Love this!!!

Apple Port Pastry Cups

These were just ok. If I make them again I'll have to make modifications. The flavor was a little bland and definitely not sweet enough. Also, they were a little oily, I guess from the cheese. My husband complained that all he could taste was "oil". Which I assured him there was no oil or butter in them to make it taste that way. Good idea though and probably worth playing around with.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

I am torn about giving this only 3 stars because it really did taste amazing. The problem is the directions in the recipe itself. I consider myself a decent cook and have made intricate meals, however if you're not familiar with cooking cream and butter sauces you can & will mess this up. I did not have time to read through all the reviews so, like I said before I'm a decent cook, so I thought it would be no problem. Unfortunately my sauce did separate. I was watching it closely but only a minute of getting distracted & voila...a greasy separated mess. I still used it because I wasn't going to waste all of that food and it still had an awesome flavor but it was definitely too greasy and I could tell it just wasn't right. I wish the directions were more clear with tips on how to prevent the separation. I will now read through the reviews and try it again probably with modifications.....that was a whole lot of butter!!!

Strawberry Tiramisu for Two

I was really excited to try this because I am a huge fan of tirimisu....however I was extremely disappointed. This is not good at all. I really didn't think the strawberry flavor went well with the coffee flavor and it just wasn't a good tirimisu filling. On the other hand, however I did come up with a "strawberries & cream shortcake" using the basis of this recipe and my husband really liked it. I think I'll stick to making my own yummy tirimisu. For those of you looking for small recipes you can always input your own recipes onto this site and scale it down to however small you want!

The Best Steak Marinade

These were really good! I would definitely recommend marrinating for longer than stated in the recipe. I marinated mine for 2 hours and it had a good flavor, but I know it would've been much better if they marinated for a bit longer.

I am only rating the sauce because I grilled my filets. This was delicious & SO easy!! I really didn't think a sauce with only 2 ingredients could turn out so good. The last few times I've made this, however I did add 1 tbsp. of brown sugar & 1 tbsp. butter after the sauce had reduced by half. With the modifications it was definitely a "5"!

Tantalizing Turkey and Parmesan Meatballs

I had to make some substitutions because I really didn't feel like going to the store...so I just used what was in my kitchen. I didn't use the jalepeno peppers, I used grated parmesan cheese instead of the blue, and used seasoned bread crumbs. After the meatballs were baked I put them in the crockpot with Ragu Marinara sauce and slow cooked them for about 5 hours for a party. Everyone loved them and no one even knew they were turkey! Next time I try these I will definitely be following the recipe exactly...I have a feeling the blue cheese will add a nice dimension of flavor.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very good texture...just the way a cookie should be. Very subtle peanut butter flavor, which is the only reason they're not getting a "5". I like to really taste the peanut butter!
