Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
Excellent recipe! I followed the recipe almost exactly - I just added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and used all brown sugar (had no white). I would probably cut the salt in half next time though as I found them to be slightly salty to the taste. Before putting them in the oven I flattened them slightly, and once baked, I left them to cool on the cookie sheets before removing them (otherwise they would've fallen apart on me).

Red Quinoa and Avocado Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2012
This is a great salad but will make a couple changes next time: less red onion or use green onion (red onion was too strong), and more avocado as I love it in salad! Other than that, it was simple, easy, healthy and delicious! What more can you ask for?

Chicken and Garlic

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2012
Not bad. If I make it again, I would use parsley instead of cilantro as I find the cilantro too overpowering of a flavour. I doubled the garlic which was a good thing because even at that it wasn't too garlicky. Very easy to make.

Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
Delicious! Loved this recipe:) It's easy and yummy! I didn't really change anything other than I didn't have any cayenne pepper so I used chipotle chill instead and it was good. I'll definitely be using this recipe often.

Healthy Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2012
Pretty good! I followed others' suggestions and doubled the recipe and changed the cooking time to 50 minutes. Next time I would probably beat the eggs before adding them to the mixture. I'll be making it again:)

Delicate Jasmine Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This was so-so for me. I didn't find that the jasmine tea nor the vegetable bouillon added much extra flavour to the rice. I tasted the cilantro the most out of any of it. It was simple and easy to make though, which is a plus!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
This was good and I'll probably make it again. As others mentioned, I used thawed chicken instead of frozen. I also cut up the chicken 3 hours in to absorb more of the juices. And next time I'd probably put more chicken in because there was a bit too much sauce for my liking.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
Not bad; they're not too sweet. It may have just been my oven but I baked mine at 400 degrees and they were done in 17 minutes.

Eggnog Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I love these cookies. I do make a few changes, however, as mentioned in other reviews. In order to get more of an eggnog flavour, I use 3/4 cup of eggnog and 2.5 cups of flour to balance the additional liquid. I also add a full teaspoon of nutmeg rather than just 1/2. They turn sooooo good:)

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This is a pretty good recipe. I used plain yogurt and just added a little bit more lemon zest and it worked fine. I would probably add even more next time (2 tbsp +). The lemon/sugar finishing touch made it just right for lemon flavour. I only used 1/8 cup of poppy seeds as was recommended by someone else and it was a perfect amount. I also only baked them for 12 minutes at 400 deg. I can see how they could turn out dry if you bake them longer than that but 12 minutes was more than enough time. Overall, it's a good one!

Mocha Angel Food Torte

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
This cake is awesome!! It's so easy to make and it's delicious:) I've made it twice now and both times a hit! The only thing I changed was I doubled the amount of coffee grinds using freshly ground-up coffee beans. Delicious!!!
