My plan was to make a recipe I found on this site but when I went to prepare it I realized I was missing some key things in the kitchen. My initial reaction was, "Darn it, I guess I won't make it then." But moments later I said, "Oh what the heck, I'll make it anyway and just change it!"… MORE

About this Cook
Wife and mother of one. Not a big cook but I'm trying to change that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! And I love to bake for others - especially desserts:) Muffins, cakes, cookies, etc. Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hmmm, not really any traditions but I do remember having breakfast for dinner - that was great! My mom would make crepes and we'd have steamed veggies and b├ęchamel sauce, then fruit with whipped cream for dessert! And, making our own individual pizzas was always a fun dinner experience:)

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III
Excellent recipe! I followed the recipe almost exactly - I just added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and used all brown sugar (had no white). I would probably cut the salt in half next time though as I found them to be slightly salty to the taste. Before putting them in the oven I flattened them slightly, and once baked, I left them to cool on the cookie sheets before removing them (otherwise they would've fallen apart on me).

Red Quinoa and Avocado Salad
This is a great salad but will make a couple changes next time: less red onion or use green onion (red onion was too strong), and more avocado as I love it in salad! Other than that, it was simple, easy, healthy and delicious! What more can you ask for?

Chicken and Garlic
Not bad. If I make it again, I would use parsley instead of cilantro as I find the cilantro too overpowering of a flavour. I doubled the garlic which was a good thing because even at that it wasn't too garlicky. Very easy to make.
