Fast English Muffin Pizzas

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
Love these. I used freshly grated Provolone cheese (was out of mozzarella), and sprinkled them lightly with garlic powder, oregano, and red pepper flakes.

Jalapeno-Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
I liked this, but it didn't have as much jalapeno flavor as I would have liked. I was only able to marinate for 2.5 hours, as I got home from work late (lousy Chicago traffic!) I'll make this again, but let it sit much longer, and perhaps add more than two jalapenos. Thanks for the recipe, Suzanne.

Roasted Okra

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Good, but I only had frozen okra on hand since it's out of season now. Yeah.... don't use frozen. Mine didn't come out very "roasted," although it was still good. I sprinkled mine with just pepper and cajun seasoning. Thanks, ncope.

Spaghetti Carbonara

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
Interesting. I was looking for a way to use up some eggs and leftover pasta, and so I decided this might be worth a shot. It's certainly different. Mind you, I only had one egg on hand, so mine was a bit dry. This wasn't bad, though. Thanks, Roni.

Olive Cheese Melts

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
These were good. I didn't use the curry powder and I didn't have green onions. Instead I used diced white onion, added jalapenos, and omitted the salt.

Seafood Sandwich

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
This was good, although I had to make my own mix of seasonings since I did not have any Old Bay on hand. I'll definitely make this again, though.

White Bean 'N' Barley Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
What a delicious low calorie soup! I had to use beef broth and dried parsley, but otherwise I didn't make any other changes. This will be in my regular rotation, thanks Stephanie.

Spaghetti Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
These were awesome! I made my own sauce by cleaning out the fridge (diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, etc...). It's a bit difficult to "stuff" them, but the end result is pure deliciousness. Thanks for the creative idea, mamakitty.

Potpourri Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
This was good, but a bit bland, as others have said. I added a dash of oregano and garlic powder, and extra hot sauce and steak sauce. With these additions, I'll make this again. Thanks.

Stuffed Jack-O-Lantern Bell Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Oh my, how delicious (and cute!) The only changes I made were using a can of diced tomatoes instead of the small tomato, threw in some instant white rice (I like my stuffed peppers to have rice in them), and used Italian breadcrumbs instead of the cubed bread. I didn't want to cut these guys up, they were (almost) too adorable to eat. Thanks for the great recipe and creative idea, stepperanddaniel!

Individual Baked Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
These were good. I added minced garlic and jalapeno slices to mine, and topped with pepperjack cheese. I also used the Oscar Mayer pre-cooked bacon, so I eliminated much of the second step. Thanks, Spokes.

The Big Easy Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
This was so good! I didn't use shrimp but instead chicken andouille, and it was fabulous. And I used dried parsley (it's what was on hand).

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
These were good. I topped them with pepperjack cheese and sliced up baby pickles. Next time I'd put the cheese on during the last 10 minutes of baking. It made everything really greasy.

Asian Crab and Cuke Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This wasn't bad, but it should be eaten the day you make it. I felt by day two and three it wasn't that great.

This was fantastic! Definitely a 5 star recipe, however, I left out the red wine and Italian seasoning (I didn't have any).

Chicken Paprikash I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This was good! I've never had chicken paprikash before, but it's one of my boyfriend's favorite dishes. I had to use regular paprika, which was okay. I plan on buying the real stuff. While I did really enjoy this (I served it over bread dumplings), I'd never make it for the bf because rumor has it, his mother makes a mean dish of chicken paprikash. And it's well known not to compete with mama's cookin'! So, I'll keep this little gem to myself. Thanks Jill!

Incredible! I made as is, except used dried parsley instead of fresh. I'll be making this again, thanks so much Joe!

Jalapeno Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
I love this sandwich, but next time I would use thinner bread. I used sourdough, and it was a bit too thick. I was unable to melt the cheese enough to my liking.
