About this Cook
My love of cooking came from my Grandma who was the best. She has been gone for 15 years and people still rave about her cakes. I enjoy cooking for my husband and 2 children who are growing up so fast and learning to do a lot of the cooking on their own. I really enjoy reading blogs and find lots of new recipes and fun ideas for my family on them. Some of my favorite are www.kevinandamanda.com, http://bakeat350.blogspot.com, and http://thepioneerwoman.com/ to name a few. I would love to do more food photography so most of my favorite blogs are very good at both.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy sharing my food with others and it seems to be easiest to do that with appetizers. I am always on the hunt for new appetizers to bring to card club and all of the other places we end up at.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite tradition has become having my children each create a Ginger Bread House from scratch. We use a picture of them with their creations as our Christmas postcard. It is amazing how many compliments we get and the kids love it. They look forward to it every year.

Strawberrylicious Daiquiris
Really wanted to like this but it just didn't have enough flavor for me. I added extra sugar and it still didn't turn out like what you get in restaurants.

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes
YUM! The BEST flapjacks I have had in years! The only thing I did different was make 5 servings and added 1 tsp of vanilla. I've been missing my grandma's flapjacks, everything else is a flavorless sponge compared to this.

Rich Chocolate Frosting
Yum! Easy and quick. Only needed 1/2 for 2 round layered cakes. Thanks for posting!
