About this Cook
I grew up in a big family and my mother was a caterer and an excellent cook. I tried to learn from her but we were always in the way so I could only sit back and watch.I didn't really get the chance to cook on my own until I was on my own. I love it, it is always fun to see the response you get.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I like things that are easy to prepare but have great results. My family says that my old favorites like lasagna and meatloaf are just amazing. Just by changing a few thing you can really make a dish pop with little effort.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I love preparing it.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I see a smile on someones face, after they try whatever I prepare for them.
My cooking tragedies
Oh man in the beginning there were more then I could even try to count. I learned it all on my own. Lots of trials and errors.

Chef John's Roast Turkey and Gravy
I loved this turkey very much. I used a bag to cook it though instead of just covering the breast with foil. Very tender!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
I thought, along with my family, that this is the best way to do the traditional "green beans" for Thanksgiving. I do so much like the French's onions though that I chose to use them instead of the butter crumbs the recipe called for for the topping. I got the best of both worlds!

Mexican Casserole
We loved this recipe. I changed the ranch beans to chili beans and added a can of black beans too with a green pepper chopped up. Used rotell instead of regular tomatoes and topped it off before cooking w/ green onions cheese and black olives.
