Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
This was good and easy, I couldn't find rump roast in my grocery store so I used a round bottom roast instead. It was too tender to be sliced so we just shredded it instead. I served the sandwiches with provolone and the au jus, and mashed potatoes.

Greek Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This was good, but didn't really give the 'fresh' vibe that I was looking for. I would make sure that it isn't too cold when serving otherwise it doesn't taste as good as when it's just cool.

Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
Quick and easy to make. I freeze mine in small portions so that it doesn't spoil. I have also made it with and without the nuts, and it tastes great either way.

Cider Pork Chop Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
Made this last night and it was fantastic!! The only thing I did different was not put in rutabaga/turnips, and I had boneless chops on hand so that was what we used. Next time I will increase the amount of cider added in the beginning, this time I was left with way less than 3/4 c. and it annoyed me a little. Tast was superb and hubby really liked it. Leftovers heat up well too!

Summer Corn Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I have made this twice now, once with steamed corn out of the bag and once with corn on the cob... personally, I preferred using the steamed corn out of the bag because it was less prep work and the kernels weren't cut too short as easily. I also used a few of the other tips, cilantro instead of basil, grape tomatoes halved instead of one big tomato, and a small portion of red onion. This salad is super good with all the changes. Great for BBQs and parties!

Chicken Puffs

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
These were alright, mine took almost 20 minutes to bake through though... the taste was ok but not outstanding, I'd like to play with this recipe a little and change the seasonings up.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I followed the directions as shown, the dough was very crumbly and sometimes hard to keep together long enough to form a ball and get a good hole in it. However, they are still good when baked and turned out looking cute.

Crescent Pizza Pockets

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
The cresents don't work well for this recipe, they fell apart entirely too easily. I'd use a pizza crust from pillsbury instead

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
My absolute favorite pumpkin recipe!! I follwed directions, but added about half a bag of chopped pecans after I mixed everything ( I prefer some kind of nut in pumpkin bread). However, the baking time was a little off for me, I increased it to about 60 minutes total and they were perfectly done.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This was pretty good, I think I overcooked my noodles a little bit (if you do that, it will get mushy) --otherwise this would have been perfect :) So don't over-do the noodles!

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
This was really good. I took the advice from a lot of the reviewers and did the whole thing in the crock pot. I cut up all the veggies and meat, used all beef broth and left it on low all day. When I got home, I added the Barley and some extra water, and turned it on high for a little under an hour. This was super filling and really rich! I froze a container of my leftovers, and when I thaw it I'm sure I can just add some extra broth and it'll be revived!

Lemon Blueberry Drop Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Very easy to make and even easier to eat up! The flavor is excellent and is not overpowering! My only concern is that the directions weren't clear enough for me when it said to 'stir until moistened' ... it was barely enough for me to get every bit of it truly mixed together, and it was very sticky which I expected ... maybe I just need more obvious directions :)

This was very good! Very rich and filling :) I used a combination of regular mushrooms and portobella mushrooms, I will definitely make again!

Thai Curry Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
I absolutely loved this soup! I could not find Lemongrass, so I had to do without. I also could not find Curry paste, so I used about half a cup of a curry cooking sauce. It still worked out pretty well, but I think next time I will find an Asian market to get curry paste, I have the feeling it will really make the soup ten times better. It was super easy for anyone that wants to try cooking Thai and is a little hesitant. I am going to have the leftovers for dinner tonight too :)

Blueberry Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2010
These were fantastic! I did what some of the reviewers suggested, half and half brown/white sugar, and I used regular oats because I did not have quick cook on hand. I think they turned out better for it actually. I added almost a cup of blueberries instead of 3/4, and these baked perfectly in 20 mins. Great for breakfast!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
Fantastic!! I cut this recipe in half and it still made a really big pot! I am not using it for a diet, this is just a healthy and yummy soup for me :) I added some cayenne, Italian seasonings, and chopped garlic. Definitely will make again when fall/winter hits!

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This was good, I followed instructions and when I got home the flavor was very bland, so I whisked in a 1/2 c. of BBQ sauce to the broth that was still in the crock pot, and it was perfect after that. Will definitely make again with the addition of a little BBQ sauce.

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
These were alright. I added some more seasoning because I felt that the sauce was a little bland, and my pork chops were butterfly cut, so it was easier to cook them slowly on the stove than try to make them in the oven. Not a bad base recipe though.

Pasta Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This was alright. I did not have fresh spinach on hand to add, and we do not have access to ditalini pasta here, the closest is rigatoni. However, I added sauteed chicken pieces and a few additional spices (chili powder, fresh pepper, celery powder). It was good, I will probably try to modify it a little more next time.
