About this Cook
My Husband and I are both in the Air Force, and just moved to our newest assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota. I am learning as much as I can about cooking while it's just the two of us in hopes that by the time we have a family I will be proficient at meal planning and budgeting, and having fun while cooking :)
My favorite things to cook
Baking new desserts!! It's just a shame my Hubby doesn't have much of a sweet tooth, so I usually bring them in to work. Since moving back into the U.S. and having a great kitchen to work with, I have been on a huge veggie kick, so I like trying new recipes with them in it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love when Hubby and I are both involved in cooking something, and sitting down at the table to have a meal together has always stuck with me throughout my childhood and now into my marriage.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to use my slow cooker!! It's great for us since we can work pretty long hours, for me to prep a meal the night before and set it cooking while I'm away :)
My cooking tragedies
I made an amazing Pork Tenderloin roast from this site, and every single time afterwards it has turned out horrible! I don't know why I can't recreate it :(

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip
This was good and easy, I couldn't find rump roast in my grocery store so I used a round bottom roast instead. It was too tender to be sliced so we just shredded it instead. I served the sandwiches with provolone and the au jus, and mashed potatoes.

Greek Orzo Salad
This was good, but didn't really give the 'fresh' vibe that I was looking for. I would make sure that it isn't too cold when serving otherwise it doesn't taste as good as when it's just cool.

Pesto Sauce
Quick and easy to make. I freeze mine in small portions so that it doesn't spoil. I have also made it with and without the nuts, and it tastes great either way.
