My Husband and I are both in the Air Force, and currently live in Rapid City, SD. We have a toddler, and life has been fast-paced ever since!
My favorite things to cook
Home-made meals. Even just a simple pasta dish is so great when I know that the sauce is made from scratch, or the veggies are fresh and not cooked into some tasteless mush!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Eating meals together as a family at the kitchen table. I really try to keep that from both our households and do at least one good weekend breakfast as well.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to use my slow cooker!! It's great for us since we can work pretty long hours, for me to prep a meal the night before and set it cooking while I'm away :)
My cooking tragedies
I made an amazing Pork Tenderloin roast from this site, and every single time afterwards it has turned out horrible! I don't know why I can't recreate it :(

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip
This was good and easy, I couldn't find rump roast in my grocery store so I used a round bottom roast instead. It was too tender to be sliced so we just shredded it instead. I served the sandwiches with provolone and the au jus, and mashed potatoes.

Summer Corn Salad
I have made this twice now, once with steamed corn out of the bag and once with corn on the cob... personally, I preferred using the steamed corn out of the bag because it was less prep work and the kernels weren't cut too short as easily. I also used a few of the other tips, cilantro instead of basil, grape tomatoes halved instead of one big tomato, and a small portion of red onion. This salad is super good with all the changes. Great for BBQs and parties!

Chicken Puffs
These were alright, mine took almost 20 minutes to bake through though... the taste was ok but not outstanding, I'd like to play with this recipe a little and change the seasonings up.
