Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
It was good, but not as lemony or garlicky as expected. Just tasted like good crockpot chicken to us.

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2010
Fantastic! My husband and I both really enjoyed this recipe, although maybe my crockpot runs hot because I only did this for 4 hours on high and it was so tender and juicy, and still fully cooked. We toasted some sandwich rolls with mozzarella and then topped with the sausage and sauce. We will definitely repeat.

Loved it, we made it with only beef and ground pork sausage but otherwise followed the recipe, and it was wonderful and ohhhh so tender.

Neat Sloppy Joes

I added more cumin, but otherwise this is a great recipe! We tried it the first time on hamburger rolls, but the 2nd time we had it over rice with stir fried veggies, very tasty.

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
Fabulous, fabulous! I've made this pie numerous times now and I've discovered that I don't necessarily need to scald the milk and I definitely like using the yellow coloring. Otherwise, no changes, perfect as-is. Tahnks!

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
This was exactly the taste I was looking for, just as I remember growing up. For anyone trying this the first time, it is a little hard to eat the rolls, best to use knife and fork, but they are soooo tasty. Great comfort food and very easy. I cooked the entire head of cabbage (removed the core) using a steamer basket, pulling a few outside leaves off to stuff and roll while the rest of the cabbage continued to cook, ended up using the entire head. Also, I added a little more tomato sauce with the condensed soup for a stronger tomato flavor. Great recipe!

Posole Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
Good basic recipe, not quite the same, but good. I prefer to use dried new mexico chiles, soak in boiling water to rehydrdate and then puree in blender, and add pureed chile to soup. The cabbage on top is a must!

Quick Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
I thought this recipe was good and easy to make, but the frozen broccoli wasn't good. I used fresh broccoli (raw) the 2nd time, and thought it was much better.

The Best Zucchini Fritters Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
My husband and I both loved these, as a snack, appetizer or for dinner with a salad. I added a little extra salt while it was frying, otherwise it can be a little bland, and only about half the milk. Grated the zucchini and squeezed the moisture out with paper towels before adding to the mixture so that it wasn't runny.

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Sooo good! I make this every year when my zucchini comes out of my garden. Can't mess up this recipe, always turns out great. Watch your oven as it will brown on the top fast, sometimes I cover with foil to avoid a too dark top. But the taste is always great. I add about half brown sugar and half white sugar, and a little extra cinnamon.

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
AMAZINGLY good recipe. Would give it 6 stars if I could. I get requests for this every time I bring it. Can't screw this one up..I've made it so many times and usually add extra brown sugar and pecans...but I've drained the juice from my berries sometimes, other times not at all. I've mixed everything together in my kitchen-aid mixer, and other times "gently folded" the sour cream or berries in..doesn't matter, it always turns out tasting great. Be careful if you use a dark bundt pan, because this will brown fast!

Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Always good, always loved at our BBQ's or potlucks, and super easy to make. I generally use grape or cherry tomatoes, instead of dicing tomatoes, so that it is easier to pick out for those non-tomato eaters. and sometimes I add other fresh raw veggies, but always goes fast at the parties.

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
Really liked these, and very easy to make. This was my first time making yeast rolls by myself, and absolutely no problems, followed the recipe exactly. However, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because my hubby and I both thought it tasted a little too sweet. Next time I might add a little melted butter, and less sugar to get closer to the flavor we were looking for.
