Last week, I went to the farmer's market by my office and found that it wasn't there!  So I ended up getting produce from Whole Foods and selected items that were labeled "locally grown".  Surprisingly, it was cheaper than I expected! My pick for last week was "savoy cabbage".  It looked… MORE

About this Cook
I am a wife and a new mom. My husband and I both work full time and are also very involved with our church so our schedules fill up fast! I enjoy cooking but because of my schedule, I need to find easy and quick recipes. I also enjoy watching TV and scrapbooking, but these days when I have free time, I usually sleep!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that is fast and delicious! I love slow cooker recipes because the are quick to prepare and ready by the time we get home!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a great cook and always made Chinese food for us growing up. I tried to learn from her growing up but still need to call her once in awhile for tips.
My cooking triumphs
I don't have one yet. I'm hoping that one day, I will have the guts to host a Thanksgiving dinner and make every single dish.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! I grew up eating everything on my plate so even if something doesn't turn out perfect, I try to finish it. But there are times when the food is just too disgusting and I have to throw it out!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies came out great! My family doesn't like our desserts too sweet so I cut the white and brown sugar both in half. The cookies were still on the sweet side so next time, I will use 1.5 cups of chocolate chips and 1.5 cups of walnuts.

Easy Mexican Casserole
The only thing I did differently was add an extra 1/2 cup of fresh chopped tomatoes. The beef had plenty of flavor after simmering with the salsa. My husband loved it! The casserole's texture was a bit like dip so we ate it with the extra tortilla chips we had. I will definitely make it again.

Luscious Slush Punch
Great recipe! I made it for a work lunch potluck event and everyone loved it. I used ginger ale and added more if I felt like the punch was getting too sweet.
