Baked Pineapple Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
This recipe is unique and fabulous. I've made it as a side dish to pork and ham. Don't use sandwich bread - be sure to use French Bread or Italian (or a bread with more substance than sandwich). Increase the amount of bread to approx. 8 slices (I always estimate, since I don't use the sandwich bread, but I think 5 slices would not be enough). I always double the recipe and use a 13x9 pan. A great recipe, and one that is always requested of me at Easter or Christmas.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
OK, I have not made a pecan pie for over 15 years, because the pecan pie I made years ago was a total diaster (with Karo syrup). I tried this recipe and it was THE BEST! Next time I will try the recipe using dark brown sugar and an extra 1/2 cujp of pecans. Thank you for the recipe! UPDATE: I made another pecan pie today. This time I used dark brown sugar (instead of light) and an extra 1/2 cup of chopped pecans...PERFECT!

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
FANTASTIC! My family LOVED this recipe! I marinated the chicken and vegies for about 4 hours before grilling. Used onions and red and yellow peppers. Only used 6 chikcen breasts instead of 8. Terrific recipe - I'd give it 100 stars if I could!

Delicious! Perfect texture and lemon taste. I made 1 1/2 times the filling. Let the bars cool completely before sifting powdered sugar on top.

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Absolutely 5 stars! I've made this recipe many, many times. Don't make changes to the recipe, and don't try it with dried basil - always use fresh as it makes a big difference. Can easily cut the recipe in 1/2 or double it with no change to the end result. I choose this recipe often for simple suppers with my family as well as when I am entertaining. SUPER- DUPER!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2011
Delicious. My family gobbled them up. Definitely freeze the candies before squishing them into the cookie. TAKE THE COOKIES OUT OF THE OVEN EXACTLY at 8 minutes like the recipe states, even if you think they need more time - they don't! Easy, no-fail recipe.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Excellent! Family loved it. Used provolone instead of Montery Jack (goofed and picked up the wrong cheese at the store) - Still tasted great! Served with "Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes" recipe from this site, salad and garlic bread. Yummy!

Alley's Chicken Pot Pie

I've made this recipe many times - it is awesome with no changes. However, using frozen vegies work really well (I substitue 2 cups frozen vegies for the carrots and peas). Still use fresh celery. Delicious!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
Loved it... 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup buttermilk as others have suggested. Also, I added ground peppercorns to make it a "peppercorn ranch" dressing that my family favors. Rest I kept the same. DO NOT be tempted to taste the dressing before putting it in the refrigerator to chill (because it won't taste very good until after it has had a few hours in the refrigerator). Thank you! This is a keeper!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Very, very good. Made for the first time today. Followed recipe exactly. Next time I will use Guiness beer (instead of a lighter beer) and also rub salt and garlic powder onto the meat before cooking as others have suggested. Excellent and very yummy!!!!! UPDATE 9/20/11 - I'm leaving this is a 4 star recipe. I've made it many times. The meat always seems a bit dry. I'll cut down on the time I cook it in the crock pot. I melt provolone cheese on top and saute green peppers and onions to go on top for those want them.

Quick Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
I have made this excellent and QUICK recipe a few times. Really good as written, but better with the following modifications: Flatten/tenderize chicken breasts so that they are 1/2" thick. Mix marsala and golden mushroom soup together before pouring over chicken breasts. Add sliced muchrooms and chopped green onion as suggested by others. I serve over homemade egg noodles - DELICIOUS! Whole family loves it!

Followed recipe exactly... It was OK - chips got soggy. None of us were a big fan of the overall taste, so likely won't try it again.
