Chef John's Sausage & Shrimp Jambalaya

The brown rice didn't take 45 minutes; it took over 2 hours to cook. I had to start a side pot with white rice as a back up. Very frustrating. The flavor was okay, but when you're eating while you're mad all because of rice....doesn't make the meal enjoyable at all. Will not make again.

1st bite: weird. 2nd bite: not too bad. 3rd bite: sorta spicy huh? 4th bite: what great flavor. 5th bite: this stuff is good. 6th bite: OMG I can't stop eating it. 7th bite: Mine! All Mine! 8th to 100th bite: I love Chef John!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

This recipe is fantastic. I wasn't quite sure how to toast the seseme seeds though..in butter? Eh, either way it turned out well. I made it twice in one week. I added manderine oranges, pecans toasted in butter and brown sugar, and toasted minced garlic. Great seasoning! A great starter spinach recipe that you can play with in so many ways. I made it with the vegetable oil the first time then extra virgin olive oil the second time. The vegetable oil seemed better, but I'll try other oils in the future.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

AMAZING!!!! I can't tell you how perfect this cake turns out, every time! All of my friends want the recipe and when they ask what's in it, I don't feel comfortable telling them 2 cups of sour cream, 5 eggs and two sticks of butter. It is delicious but def. not heart smart. But when it's brought to a party, it's always a hit! Always! I've never made any changes and never will. Oh, and it goes well with Easy Chocolate Bundt Cake Glaze by tunisianswife. Perfect one two punch...lol.

Herb Biscuits

This is a 'fun' recipe, especially for kids on spaghetti night. They are bite size and very tasty, but be easy on the butter and bake a little longer because I ended up with a soggy, buttery and doughy bottom but draining it and increasing the cooking time fixed the problem and they were a big hit.

Chicken Supreme with Broccoli and Mushrooms

This is an amazing, easy recipe. I added broccoli and mushrooms before I poured the chicken soup and I can't imagine this dish without it. The cheese didn't need to be there but it was otherwise a fantastic dish that I can stir up in no time. I will make again.

Crusty White Bread

I've made homemade bread only a couple of times and both times were flops filled with disappointment. This recipe, however, changed my bread making world. The rolls and loaf of bread turned out absolutely delicious. I stuck to the recipe instructions to a T and will make again and again without changing a thing. The way the rolls and loaf rose was a beautiful sight that I will never forget. Thanks for sharing this fantastic recipe.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Awesome! I gave the recipe to my aunt and she made her second batch with Alaska smoked salmon she caught herself. She said it turned out delicious. This recipe is amazing, especially if you're a beginner at making Mexican food. Thanks for the recipe.
