After a long, energy-zapping week, I was looking forward to a relaxing Sunday with my pug Leo. I told myself from the moment I got up 'today is for me to do whatever I want and nothing else!' Normally that statement never sits well with me because I can always find something to fret over,… MORE

About this Cook
I love food! But I think that will become pretty obvious to many of you. I'll try almost ANY recipe and will most likely modify it according to my palate as I go. Eating is an adventure and I crave new experiences.
My favorite things to cook
Italian has become the "go to" food for me. I believe it is the easiest and very yummy. But... I am gonna have to go with Indian cuisine. The different levels of flavors within this type of cuisine is extraordinary. I hope to be able to cook Indian food at home and have it taste as good as the local spots.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving. I love ALL of the things that be brought to the table. I transitioned from a traditional turkey to a honey glazed Virginia ham and I have never gone back. I am trying to have a thanksgiving pot luck at my new apartment so that we can all enjoy different styles of food.
My cooking triumphs
I roasted a whole chicken! AND DIDN'T UNDER/OVER COOK IT. Every new creation in the kitchen is a triumph for me.
My cooking tragedies
I over cooked some pork chops because I got caught up on an episode of Pioneer Woman. It was disastrous. Good thing we keep the take out pile nearby and ready.

Fluffy Pancakes
I needed a quick pancake recipe for a bunch of people who crashed at my place for the night and it worked out great. Definitely need to add this recipe in your recipe box if you don't. I appreciated the use of "homemade" buttermilk. I didn't have any store so this worked out.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I actually didn't have a loaf pan on hand so I used a cake pan. I would suggest you add some kind of nut to it to keep it moist for days after it is baked. But other than that, awesome flavor.
