My mom was a cook for several years in restaurants and has taught me well. Besides a love of cooking, I have four children ( two white and one brown "Lassie" Collies) and a Bengal cat to take care of. Their names are Molly, Lilly, Jenny and Dobby the cat. I like to garden and my favorite is planting shallots, onions, garlic and cucumbers.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, Stews and Casseroles, Stand up Chicken, Roasts
My favorite family cooking traditions
Traditional meat and potato meals for Dad. When he was out of town, Mom made stuffed peppers, casseroles, pizza,, all the goodies my Dad would not eat.
My cooking triumphs
Thanks to my mom, I've never produced Lumpy gravy.
My cooking tragedies
When broiling lobsters I noticed the self cleaning switch on the oven which I swung shut locking the stove door. I had no idea what compelled me to do this. My husband had to unplug the stove to interrupt the self cleaning process and the door would not open until the temperature dropped. We had scorched lobsters that night.
