About this Cook
I work in Human Resources
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti sauce! Lasagna with that spag sauce! Beef stew. Tuna casserole. Blueberry muffins! Tacos.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey is sacred in my family. For Thanksgiving and at Christmas. Delicious. I can't go without!
My cooking triumphs
Well... I made classic Quebec tourtiere in 2007 for the first time and it was wonderful :)
My cooking tragedies
Oh, there have been plenty. I'm not the best baker in the world. Far too much of a science for me to get it right every time. There have been plenty of batches of gross muffins that ended up in the garbage :)

Chocolate Zucchini Muffins
These muffins are really outstanding. They are very chocolatey and the zucchini is delicious. A keeper!

Lemon Cranberry Muffins
I used this recipe for the first time last night. I made a double batch because I had a lot of fresh cranberries to use. The only change I made was to use the rind of 1 whole lemon chopped finely and the juice of 1 lemon in place of the lemon extract. They are PERFECT. Just enough sweetness and tartness to make a perfect muffin. The regular sized muffins came out of the paper liners with ease and the mini muffins popped out of the pan which I sprayed with cooking spray. The mini muffins were a HIT at work! This recipe is a keeper!

Shreddies No-Bake Peanut Butter Squares
I had really high hopes of these no-bake squares. I made them for Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend and they turned out VERY crumbly. The whole thing pretty much fell apart. And there was by no means enough chocolate to cover the top. When I tried to spread what little chocolate I had, the crumbly under-mixture ended up mixed in. The taste was good overall, but the presentation was terrible and I doubt I will make these again.
